CHITOWN!
My friend is going blind, and he started vaping/buying "mistic" brend e cigs from walmart. He has gone thru almost 6 batteries and has bought a lot of cartomizers costing him $13/ 5 pc cartomizers. I didn't know he was vaping until last week when he told me about it. Asked him why buy if you can refill cartomizers, he stated that it is more convenient for him to buy. Now for the question. Would you think his life would be easier if i get him a VMOD XL? Thought about VMOD XL for the Battery size (18650) and the liquid capacity (read somewhere that it holds 9ml). Would a vmod be in a category of a "tinkering" mod? leaky mod? I just want to give him a better option in vaping. Any suggestions would be great.

Thank you for your time guys.

I wouldnt get him a VMOD if hes still buying cartos prefilled. From what it sounds like he hasnt even attempted filling his own. If I were you I would just give him a handful of boge cartos as well as a 5 or 10ml of your favorite juice. Show him how to fill it up, and let him vape it. I'm sure he will be amazed.

I had a vmod XL for a while and I did have a problem with it that I think would be hard for a person with limited vision. It has an o-ring on the inside that (at least in the initial models) was prone to falling out. I couldn't figure out where the o-ring was supposed to go, and actually thought it was an extra that got jammed down inside by accident. I sold the vmod before I realized it was supposed to go in there. I think someone with limited vision might have problems if something like that happens.

I wonder if a cartomizer tank would work for him?

Could he use cartos and tanks? The tanks that I use hold 6 ml of juice so do not need to be filled very often.

This post caught my attention because I was just reading about a vendor who happens to be blind at FB last night. He posted Youtube videos of how he mixes the juices that he sells. It was very interesting. Folks that lose their sight are normally able to compensate very nicely.

I am willing to bet that the vendor that is blind mixes his juice more accurately than most sighted vendors :)

I've been using my VmodXL since they were released. It's a no muss- no fuss device. Fill the bottle. Put a battery in. Vape. That's it. It works well with cartos or atties (510).

Your friend would need a syringe to fill the bottle, rather than dripping straight in (I have problems with this sometime).

Order now from Vapage. Discount code "vapin15" saves 15%.

Is there someone that can refill for him? My recommendation would be Ego Passthrough batteries and Stardust Clearomizers.

The Ego PTs would be easy for him to keep charged even during use, without having to fiddle with separate batteries and chargers.

The Stardusts are fiddle-free, leak proof, have excellent performance and longevity, and are quite easy to fill from a dropper bottle. Even a non-vaping family member could easily take care of doing his refills.

Ok check out V4L prefilled cartomizers. They are 808s and they will work on a mistic battery. They are cheaper than Wallmart with more flavors to pick from.
As for charging you friend could use a kitchen timer as a guide for getting a full charge on a battery.
I think Wallmart has a mechanical timer that can be set up to one hour.

What sort of vision problems does he have / How well can he see?

I'd recommend you find a way to to teach him how to syringe fill. Guide his hands through the entire process if his vision is THAT bad. Find the exact amount that will work every single time, mark that point on the syringe VERY BOLDLY, have him draw that much liquid and inject that much liquid every time. After he's doing good with that I'd recommend a quality bottomfeeder (Vmod has had some issues) try the reo mods, incredibly solid and clean looking so there shouldn't be MUCH issue with taking care of it.
