So Cal
Last Thursday I had an idea that I would buy an ecig at my local smoke shop and just one pack of analogues as opposed to the carton I usually bought (pack a day smoker). After 38 years of smoking I was vaguely aware that I needed to try for another quit (previous efforts had never lasted beyond 4 months), but my ecig experience of a few years ago didn't bode well for the future. I've got to say - WOW....I haven't even been tempted to break into the new pack of analogues, and I can say without a doubt that I'm done with them:)

So, on Thursday I started with an Esquare. On Friday I bought another one (supposed to last 2 packs - rubbish!), and several other disposables including the rechargeable Blu pack. All viable, albeit short lived, so after finding this website I ordered the V2 starter pack with an assortment of flavor cartridges. The mail just arrived (yes, I was constantly tracking the shipment), and gosh - I'm in heaven!! I think I've just tasted every different flavor and I love them all:blink:

Since I"m clearly hooked on vaping, I've been checking out the Halo website looking at the Triton, but I'm not sure yet that I'm ready to go for something bigger. I don't want to mess with gadgets really (even though I'm a big of a gadget freak), but my weekend experience with the Blu makes me think I may be constantly running out of prefilled cartomizers - and that could end up being as expensive as my previous pack-a-day habit! In any event, this is a fantastic website, and reading all the posts makes me realize I'm not crazy - this is it for me - I'm now a non smoker (and my daughter is thrilled)!

Welcome to ECF. I'm glad you found something that works.

I started out with a cigarette size ecig, but quickly realized they were going to be too much of a bother. Luckily I had found ECF by that time and moved up to something a little more convenient. You should look at the ego style batteries. They come in several different sizes, and the bigger the battery, the longer they will last between charges. The real advantage to moving up from cigalikes, IMO, is the better options for juice delivery. Cartomizers are nice, and for those usually you can pry those pre-filled ones open and refill them, but there are many other options. Keep an open mind about the larger sizes, you may find that the advantages outweigh any reservations you have about them.

Can't agree more with this!

I would add that with bigger batteries you not only gain in time between charges, you also gain in vaping power. What I mean by this is that you will get a stronger hit. It literally took me half a day to get used to the bigger form factor. Some batteries like the eGo Twist even let you adjust the power so you can tailor the hit it will give you to your likings.

Don't get me wrong, if you are happy with what you have right now... Keep using it. But, if you are a gadget freak you owe it to yourself to have one.

 welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of vaping!!!

Congrats on quitting! And welcome!

If you think a Triton is intimidating, go look at a Provari, or a Vamo! :)

You're on the right path - go in small steps towards the bigger and more complicated gear - the important thing is to find a place where you're comfortable, and not smoke!

Yes, the pre-filled carts are very expensive, especially with Blu, who are outrageously expensive, and anyone who's used them know they're not even close to two packs worth.

Don't be intimidated by the gear - a lot of it is easy to use, and this site can answer just about any question or problem you might have.

The Triton looks okay, but my concern is the size of the battery - I started out with a similar kit from a company called Buck Naked, and the battery lasted 3 hours if I was lucky. Try a bigger sized battery, like this:
http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm
You should get a day's worth out of that. And, for almost the same price, you get TWO, and a backup is mandatory, you need one to use while the other charges.

The Egos will also accept any 501-compatible head, so you can try different things down the road - tank styled like the Kanger Pro tanks, cartomizers, and atomizers (like the cartos you use now, but with a removable mouthpiece to drip more liquid in).

I also think once you try some of the juices out there, you won't go back to the pre-filled. :) There's a whole world waiting for you there!

Most of all, enjoy it, and have fun! Let us know what you try, and what you think - the reviews here have made a world of difference for me!

Congrats and welcome to ECF AmandaD!!!
+1 on the My Vapor Store kit. Vaping does take a little more time to clean and keep your equipment in working order than lighting up a cigarette. And it can cost just as much as smoking until you get all your equipment and juice flavors figured out. But the health benefits are more than worth it. Good luck!!!

You must be my brother from another!

All the automagic disposable at WallyWorld and C-stores are a joke.

Worse is the folks that offer Try it for $10 +/- shipping only...

I bought into that and found a $200 charge on my PayPal card
14 days after the order.

When I called in my ..., they said that it says so on the web site.

BS. I do research for a living. I called PayPal and since I was
on it so fast, they didn't even have to do a chargeback. They
just killed the capture.

There are about 14 website landing pages doing this...

Gives E cigs a bad name.

I've been lurking here for about a week before I signed up,
and the site is an amazing collection of data and folks!

Regarding the Katana kit from Vape Dojo for only $15...

I just got this a month ago to try a manual battery for the first time as I have been using the Ovale Emini (which is also fantastic btw).

I have to say I love the kit from Vape Dojo! It feels real good in the hand and I am finding myself preferring to hit that little button to fire it up ;)

Congrats and welcome to ECF! I love hearing stories such as yours as they remind me of my introduction to vaping.

but I'm not sure yet that I'm ready to go for something bigger. I don't want to mess with gadgets really (even though I'm a big of a gadget freak)

I thought the exact same when I started. Fast forward a couple of years...
