The answer to the question might well depend on what one uses a drip tip for...
There are people that drip and remove the tip to do so.
Then there are people that drip and refuse to ever remove the tip, like me.
Then there are people that use drips tips to help moderate the heat of the vapor.
Or just because they look really neat.
I can not use delrin tips, because they tend to hold on to vape juice and then put it right in my mouth.
I like stainless steel or glass drip tips, because they don't have that problem.

smoktech mini pyrex 510, something about the smoothness and feel of the pyrex glass feels much better than aluminum or delrin to me
I make mine, 8mm internal bore, Friction fit, Internally stepped walls to help keep juice out of your mouth. This is actually the only drip tip I use on all of my devices, simple design that never needs to be removed from the RDA, super easy to drip right through.
i may be wrong but, shouldnt the steps be facing the other way to prevent juice from building up on the top of the steps?
I'm sure they would work both ways, how they work now is two ways, first by simply making it a longer route than a straight line to your lips the juice must make at least two 90° turns before it reaches the top of the tip. Second, the steps cause some turbulence in the airflow which keeps the "hot popping" juice from finding its way into the back of your throat on a long lung inhale. Theoretically they would work better upside down but machining them from the bottom side would not be cost effective, especially in my situation where I'm only making them for personal use. Plus I want the top side hole to be as large as possible so the juice bottle dripper fits inside it.
Edit: I used to make them with a clean straight bore of 8mm all the way through, they do work quite well that way still but if you've overdripped by even one drop the juice always found a way to my mouth. Now I've got to seriously overdrip to get juice near my lips.

I like my mflux wide bores, one in every color (plus on all the V2's it helps me keep track of what's in them)

This is my choice if I only had one drip tip. Actually, it's what I only use [emoji6]
The only bummer part is they don't fit flush on my Atlantis or Nautilus Mini. But I love them so much I don't care [emoji106]
