If you e-smoke next to a non-smoker

Well, when my wife and I smoked analogs, my smoking bothered her when she wasn't smoking at the same time. When she quit smoking, my smoking bothered her all the time. I switched to e-cigs - now the vapor bothers her - she claims it smells like nicotine. Yet, she thinks the odor of kim-chi is like a slice of heaven... I can't smell a thing, and neither can several other people I e-smoke near. I think she's focusing on habits that annoy her. Try a little experiment. Pretend the person complaining is a parent or teacher and sneak tokes when they're not looking. If they don't complain, it isn't an olfactory annoyance... :)

I've had mixed responses while I e-smoke from non's to x's as well as analogs.

The worst I find are the majority of non's and x's. They appear to have their own addiction to deal with, and thats "intolerance". If I did'nt know better, I'd chaulk it up to their own mindset that smoking is bad PERIOD. If they see smoke, even if its only fake smoke vapour, their brain turns into confrontational uneducated boobs that refuse to listen to reason/explaination that they are acting on a visual that won't harm them as they crawl back into their poluting run down vehicles stinking of their own over indulgence of purfume or cologne.

On the other side of the coin, I've had the balance inquire "politely" and carry on with their life intrigued by the products.

To answer your question, I've only had others comment on the chocolate flavour (my cart type is quite limited in flavours), and they didn't complain at all. They were more curious as to "what are you smoking ?".

Vaped at home around 4 non smokers on christmas day eve. No one complained and could only get a slight whiff of the strawberry if they were close enough when I vaped it. Even the other half (non smoker) agrees that it is unoffensive to her.

With the non smokers I agree, they see what appears to be smoke and they will start coughing and complaining that it is irritating to them.

I was talking to a coworker who says he has SEVERE reactions to secondhand cigarette smoke [eye ulcers, coughing fits, etc]. I showed him my device, explained the concept, and with his consent we tried an experiment. I sat next to him in the meeting we were attending, and I happily vaped my brains out. He reported that the WAS a light odor [which he could only describe as "sweetish"], but he did not find it objectionable, and did not have any reactions to it. None of the other folks at the meeting could smell it, but it was a little distracting as people kept staring at the clouds of vapor :)

My wife has never reported being able to smell the vapor, and she complained ALL THE TIME about the analogs, even when I smoked outside :)

I think the flavors are mostly so subtle that we as the user can taste them somewhat, but only the really strong ones [like banana or strawberry] might get picked up by a nearby person. At any rate, I don't believe it carries very far...

Myself and partner have now vaped in two local pubs, to much interest from others. Mostly smokers of course but surprisingly one NON-smoker who just thought it looked really cool - bit worrying, that. No-one has made any remarks about being able to smell anything from the vapour at all.

However, we have found vaping to be a particular hit with our cats! The boy especially HATES tobacco smoke and legs it from your lap the moment you light up a normal cig. If you puff away on an e-cig he doesn't turn a hair - not bothered in the slightest. As they have a far better sense of smell than humans do, this does suggest that even if the vapour does smell it obviously isn't unpleasant or offensive to them although tobacco smoke clearly IS.

Needless to say, as far as we are concerned this is just another of the many advantages with vaping! :thumb:

I smoke it at the gym sometimes and at first, it got some attention and unwelcomed stares. Nowadays, i whip it out and its like nothing to them anymore. I of course explained what it was and none of them said they could smell anything.

I only bring the supermini to pubs and most people don't even realise the difference unless they come real close. My place don't have smoking bans in pubs.

My friend says it smells like blueberry (I was using the blue led and have no blueberry liquid), I believe it is all in their heads.

There are 3 other people in the small office where I work and I vape while they are not in the office; they have yet to make any comment about an odor when they come back in.

I vape at my house in a room with the door shut and my boyfriend says there is no odor at all that he can smell.

I mainly vape menthol and RY4 (not sure if that really makes a difference or not).

And then there are the non-smokers that wrinkle up their nose even after I have explained it all to them. *shrugs*
