Dumb. It is lame how they say "The moratorium prohibits any new smoke shop or drug paraphernalia retailer from selling electronic cigarettes for the next 45 days." You can go and get your drug supplies but dont try to get any e-cig stuff.

yes it sucks... yes its a bad precedent...

yes there are dozens of Vape shops in so cal. I can think of 10 off the top of my head within 20 minutes of seal beach.


Seal beach is a tiny 13 square mile community of 24,000 residents, wedged in between Long Beach(465,000) and Huntington Beach(196,000)

As a general rule it's residents leave it's city limits to buy most anything, so I suspect this won't change their usual behavior.

This is only an issue due to the precedent.

I am an Old Town SB resident. There is only one shop in town that really supplies anything worth while there. It's called the Corner Shop. PCH & 12th back in the corner of the strip mall by the bike shop. Kevin, the owner is very cool and has good, but limited, knowledge. He carries most of the basic items and beats nearly everyone else's prices. Makes it great to walk a few blocks to get restocked on Kanger stuff & juice. Has some mods too and clones are coming in... I digress...

I doubt there will be many new Vape shops opening in Old Town. Parking is tough and it's more of a "family" tourist town. They call it "Mayberry by the Sea" for a reason. I had a friend ask about opening a Vape Shop on Main St. Just don't think there would be enough foot traffic to generate a profit. Rossmore, maybe or possibly on PCH.

I wish that some credible organization would do a REAL STUDY!! I'd hate to think that I've went through this only to find out that vaping is gonna kill me as fast as cigarettes!! Additionally, you "KNOW" that everything on the Internet is "TRUE"...yeah right. Sound like BT is ramping up their propaganda campaign.

Anyone living there shouldn't have a problem of not having a B&M in their city. They can be convenient but expensive.

So true. Why do you think the FDA hasn't funded a study while merely providing anecdotal evidence and a brief 'revue' over the last 4 years? Could it be they don't want to see any real scientific results that may not favor their deeming regulations? This whole thing is, in the colloquial, ... backwards. There should be no deeming until proper scientific study has been accomplished.
