PCB Council balks at e-cigarette ban - Government - The News Herald

The day before, a news article revealed that Panama City Beach's City Council would consider a proposed vaping ban (with no penalties for violators) that claimed to be “concerned about a potential public health crisis caused by the use of e-cigarettes” and was intended to “curb the use of e-cigarettes until reliable studies and data are available on the potential health risk to e-cigarette users and the impact of secondhand emissions” even though many studies have consistently confirmed the negligible risks to users and no risks to nonusers.

Many thanks to those who quickly got the word out mobilized same-day opposition to defeat this proposed vaping ban.
City Councils typically approve the first reading of proposed bills, which is needed before the Councils can take any further actions to consider a bill.
It is very rare when a bill's sponsor cannot convince any other council member to second the motion (on a first reading of the bill) on a proposed bill.
