I know this has been discussed quite a lot, but the nicotine level in your juice really, really can make a difference in whether vaping works for you.

I was a pack and half a day smoker for years and years. The last few years I had gone to ultra-light 100's, but sometimes smoked 2 packs a day if stuff was going on in my life.

The gal at the vape shop who helped me said that since I smoked ultra-lights, I might be happy with 12 mg nicotine, so that's what I started with 11 days ago. I haven't smoked since then, but had that vague, uncomfortable feeling quite a bit. I thought it was probably normal, and just tried to ignore it and didn't smoke.

Today I went back to the shop and picked up a couple of bottles of the same juice I'd been vaping, but in the 18 mg strength.

What an amazing difference! In just 6 hours or so, I feel so much better, and don't have that "something's missing" feeling.

So, if you're having trouble, consider upping your nicotine level for at least a while, and see if it helps. It sure did help me.:)

HI, good advice. The only juice my first shop had was 18 or 24 .. I picked up two of the 24%.. and liked vaping so much I reduced nicotine right off.. but Indeed as long as the major cravings were eased.. I went from .. two packs before vaping .. down to 13 analogs the next day.. while vaping. then down to 7 .. then . 3 then ... one... My last analog was on Black Friday. and I know from trying to quit before, that I would still be hooked on the nasty smokes if vaping didn't work out for me. I'm glad you have figured out the issue right off.. and it will change again and again the more you vape. Soon you'll find the smooth flavor for the vape of the day and some other juices to head off the boredom.
Keep on vaping and enjoy the journey,
Blessings and Joy,
Bliss.

So true! definitely need that "kick" to "kick" the habit. lol

one thing i like to add. have both 18mg and 12mg around and alternate. what i found is that, since you can vape indoor and so many flavors to choose from, you might end up vaping more frequently as you get comfortable with the setup. use 18mg when you need the kick and use 12mg when you feel like just vaping. hard to explain but there is difference in what your body wants. i tend to get little edgy when i am low on the nicotine and thats when i vape 18mg. when i am bored or heavily concentrating (while coding), i vape on 12mg for fun/break. sorry i am not making any sense.

Yes, about the flavors...I was a typical newbie, and thought I wanted something that "tasted" just like a cigarette. Boy, was I wrong about that! I have two "tobacco" like flavors that are really so - so. Tonight I came home with Banana Nut Bread and I love it. Who would know?

You are making perfect sense to me, and I understand what you are saying.

It's fun, huh? I think a lot of us are the same - I had no interest in the sweet flavors when I started, now my faves are all sweet! :) I could really care less about duplicating the cig taste.

Makes perfect sense. A lot of people lower their nic levels when they chain vape.

My favorite flavors come from a shop who sell doublers - 0mg of the flavor, that way you can use it to cut the juice with the nicotine down, and not lose flavor. I'm considering buying a 30ml bottle of my fave at 36mg, and a bottle of doubler, that way I can mix 6 or 12 for using in my IGO, or 18-24 for everything else, and start using 18 when I chain vape, or I'm painting or working on art and not thinking about it.
