...then I'd like to hear your thoughts on the relative merits and drawbacks of each. While I'm pretty heavily invested in G6 hardware at this point, the promise of MORE (vapor, hit, battery life, whatever) is very tempting. But as a person whose income has recently taken a substantial hit, I'm wary of falling into the pattern of perpetually chasing "the next upgrade."

I guess what I'm really asking is, will the difference blow me away or is it just an incremental improvement? Only someone who's used both devices can really answer that question.

Forgive me if this seems a newb question but I am, in fact, a newb. I've only been vaping in earnest for a few weeks.

Thanks!

I haven't used a G6, but I have and do use G6 cartos on Triton batteries- for discreet vaping. I'm assuming there isn't much difference in vape quality, other than the Triton batteries last considerably longer per charge than the G6 batteries. It is night and day difference between the cartos and Triton tanks- taste, throat hit, vapor production. I could never have quit, nor stay cigarette free on G6 cartos alone.

I would say that the only things that will 'blow you away' in particular about the Triton versus the G6 are the battery life and flavor from your juice.

Not to say that the Triton doesn't produce great vapor, because it does, but in my experience the G6 did also. The Triton produces marginally more, though it's also going to provide it more consistently than a single carto.

The flavor is vastly improved in a wick tank versus a carto, for sure. Also in my experience the Triton batteries offer hella life. I would use a 650 for over 24 hours pretty consistently.

Great info. Thanks!

I've already made the progression from regular cartos to LR cartos to mini-tanks and I have noticed a difference. I use all three now for different reasons. For instance, I like Tribeca in a LR carto but Kringle seems to taste better with the cooler vapor of a regular carto. Everything tastes better to me in the mini-tanks EXCEPT for Tribeca, which I actually prefer in the LR carto.

I started with the G6 batteries, but have replaced them with Tritons because the charge last longer. That's really the only difference between the G6 and Triton. You get pretty much the same vape experience from a G6 as you do with a Triton, they are both 3.7 volts. Only the vv Triton Twist version is different because you can up the volts higher on it. Hope this is helpful. :)

With a carto, you won't get more flavor, vapor or throat hit with the Triton batteries. Both the Triton and G6 batteries are rated at 3.7 volts. Basically, the Triton will simply last a lot longer especially with the 1300 mAh batteries. Also, the air holes are a bit smaller on the Triton batteries. This is perfect for the tanks, but makes the draw with a carto a bitter harder than the G6s.

Of course, that's with cartos. The Triton Tanks, on the other hand, are a much different story. With the tanks, you'll get a lot more vapor and flavor. A lot more. The only issue with the tanks is that some juices are hard on the wicks especially if you have a tendency to puff them like a cigar which is very easy to find yourself doing with them once you start getting the awesome flavor they give. I would recommend getting a few replacement coils with your purchase. The tanks come with 2.2-2.4ohm coils, if you want the "default."

It's also best to keep them above the 2ml line of the tank. On a 2.4ml tank, you might find yourself refilling it quite a bit and going through juice rather quickly. I'd say that the tanks don't travel as well as the cartos due to that, but it may not be an issue for you.

The Triton with a tank is also larger than the G6s. Again, this may not be an issue, but if you are wanting an idea of the size, here's a comparison:
TritonSizeComparison.jpg

Standard batteries and cartos but with added drip tips. You can see the top of the carto on the one with the yellow drip tip.

Basically, with the Tritons you'll have longer battery life with the cartos but a bit harder draw. With the tanks, you'll get a lot more flavor and vapor though they don't travel as well as the G6s.

Anyway, I hope I gave you a good idea of what to expect out of the Triton system.

Thanks for the replies! This is very useful information, and the pic really makes the size difference easy to see. The Triton battery is actually less big and unwieldy than I had imagined.

I guess the conclusion I can draw from this is that while it would be worthwhile to add a Triton kit to my arsenal somewhere down the road, I shouldn't feel like I'm really missing out by sticking with my G6 batteries for the time being.
