A local news channel did a 2 minute report on ecigs. How is it considered news if they did no research? The synopsis was that ecigs contain propylene glycol like found in antifreeze. I just did a five minute search in my house and found that margarine, ice cream and my hand lotion contain that same ingredient:evil:.
The same report said cost of ecig $100.00---huh? I was sure I paid $35.00 for my 510.

I have a lot of issues with my ecigs, but I shall not broadcast my ignorance. I will continue to research until I have enough answers to satisfy myself.

Breaking news: Do you think your carbonated beverage is safe? Think again... It's a little known fact that most drinks available at your grocery store contain hydroxylic acid this SAME chemical can be found in such things as toilet bowl cleaner, anti-freeze, dishsoap and even liquid pesticides!

of course hydroxylic acid is water but hey that news wouldn't sell

As usual scary news sells real news doesn't

Actually, Ethylene Glycol is what is used in antifreeze, not PG.

Instead of going into it myself, here is a link to the info on PG from the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, which is an off-shoot of the CDC (Center for Disease Control), both of which are funded and run by the Government.
(Wx3).atsdr.cdc.gov/csem/egpg/propylene_glycol(DOT)html
(since i haven't made 15 posts I can not give a direct link, so I modified the web addy. I am sure you can figure out the www and the (DOT) parts)

I agree, I would like to have the name and number of the TV station to correct this misinformation.

Well Propylene Glycol can be found in Antifreeze, the safe stuff. It is also used as a suspension for many medications. That's why so many pharmacies know how to order the stuff.

One of the local radio stations used that a few years ago on 1 April. They said the local water district had Dihydrogen Monoxide in the water. They had so many people calling the water district and the station, outraged that there was chemicals in the water. The radio station had to make a formal on-air apology and explain it to the public. Amazing how many high school and college graduates couldn't figure out that Dihydrogen Monoxide = H2O.
