IGO L ohms and efest batteries. Need help.

Currently using the kamry k101. Efest 18650 (2000mah) & 18350 (800mah) batteries. Just purchased the IGO L to venture into rebuilding.

Ive read tons of posts but can't really seem to find my answer.

With my current setup, my question is what's the lowest I can go in ohms and be SAFE? I love the looks of it all with the 18350. Just want to know what's good for both batteries. Right now I've got 3mm silica and 28g kanthal. If you have any suggestions on a good build for vapor and flavor, please share. Thanks.

I wouldn't go much lower than .8 ohms. If you're wanting to go lower I would suggest a a higher amp battery like the Sony VTC4 30 amp. As far as suggestions for good builds. I got a nice .8 dual coil setup on the IGO-W3 using 28g 10/9 wraps and organic cotton ball wicks. I'm currently using my first build on a dripper and the flavor/vapor production is pretty awesome

18350 have 6.4amp continuous.. and I'm pretty sure the 18650s are a 10c/20amp continuous.

0.7ohms(6amps) won't give you much wiggle room on the 18350s, but I've been using them at that for two weeks, never warming up.. accurately measured coils with mvp and calibrated multimeter.

0.3 ohms is 14amps at full capacity, 0.2ohms is 21amps.. when you get that low, you need a good meter. So I'd stick with the 0.7ohms or above to use with both sizes.

Do you have a good meter, preferably one that can be calibrated? If not, hold off on the deciohm coils.. and you can use standard resistances and regulated PVs.. nothing wrong with that.

There's a lot of cool builds, micro/mini/nano coils, vcores, dragon coils, etc.. check them out in rba subforum. I stick with micro and nano coils with rolled cotton.

The 2000 mah efest has a 10 amp max discharge rating I believe. You can safely go down to about .5 ohms with it. If you're shooting for 1-1.5 ohms you'll be within the specs.

Are you sure? I thought it was a 10c rated battery? 10c×2000mAh=20000mA..I am trusting sources on the internet for that 10c rating.

Moin,

Currently using the kamry k101. Efest 18650 (2000mah) & 18350 (800mah) batteries. Just purchased the IGO L to venture into rebuilding.

the iGo-L is a single coil, so you should not go into sub ohm vaping. Best taste for single coils starts at 6 Watts and ends at 8 Watts, imho.

Take a look at this graphic:

Your Efest wont have any problems for this setup.

Moin, the iGo-L is a single coil, so you should not go into sub ohm vaping.

Quite a few people sub-ohm with just a single coil...myself included. Even have a single .6 ohm twisted coil on my IGO-L running on a Sony VTC4 30 amp. Slight overkill for the build, but better safe than sorry.

There's nothing wrong with sub-ohm vaping on a single coil setup. For me, I can handle quite a bit of vapor, but 2-4x coils is a bit much for me personally. I don't care about plumes of vapor and I'm not a cloud chaser, but this single coil hits pretty hard and produces some vapor so it doesn't disappoint.

Maybe that was a joke? :)

As for the OP - before you venture into building sub-ohm coils, buy something to check your resistance; preferably not a VV/VW mod. Get something that will check ohm accurately without worry. When you get down into the .2-.3 ohm range, you really don't want to be hit or miss. The box mods are hit or miss sometimes due to mass production. Get a meter from home depot. It'll cost a bit more, but it'll be one really good investment. I'd rather spend $40-$50 on a decent one than mistakenly fire a coil that isn't what is says it is. Just me.

As for the batteries:

18650 (IMR/hybrid) 2250mAh 10A
18650 2000mAh 10A
18650 1600mAh 30A
18490 1100mah 8.8A
18350 800mah 6.4A
