Hi guys,

So I've been using a K100 with the stock unprotected battery for about a couple of weeks now. I've been pairing it up with an Igo-L and all of my builds have been around 0.7-0.9 ohms. I'd figured that since I like to vape in sub ohms, it'd be a better idea to get some Efest batteries. However, since I've switched over to the Efest flat top 18350's, it hasn't been firing properly. Sometimes it'll fire, sometimes it wouldn't. The contacts are clean, no hotspots, and no shorts on the coil and wick. What is weird is that when I switch back to the stock unprotected battery, it fires properly. Any ideas of what's going on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The fact that you are using flat tops vs the V2 button tops is most likely the culprit of your issue. It sounds like a connection issue. Also Efest are far from the best batteries you could be using. With Mech's your Batteries are the most important thing since they are your power source.

It's the 3.7 Volts 800 mah IMR High Drain batteries.

OK, so it's not about battery protection kicking in. And if these batteries couldn't take the drain rate they would be getting warm but they would still fire.

I have a K100 that I use every day. I've got flat top MNKE 18650's which work just fine. My 'KeCig' K100 has a protruding post for the positive battery end so I can use any style batt. There are other manufacturers that make K100 clones. Have a look at your battery post. If it does not stick out, that's likely it.
