IGO-W and Kayfun Lite question

So I just got my first rba's in the mail this weekend. I bought an IGO-W and kayfun Lite clone off fasttech. Problem with the IGO-W is the 1 air hole. I'm running about 1.5 ohms at 9w and not getting much vapor production off a dual coil on an MVP 2.0. Is the due to the 1 tiny air hole? I have plans to get it drilled out (and a 2nd hole, too) this weekend as I do not have the knowledge or equipment to do it. Also, one wick looks blacker than the other. I'm also guessing that's an airflow issue.

Second, my KFL clone pulls REALLY tight. I read a couple posts on here that said to loosen the airflow control screw. Is that the one directly on the bottom in the middle? What is the other screw for? Sorry for the noobness of the questions, I am just starting out with RBA's and am trying to learn. So bear with me :)

Thanks!
a

Dual coils dont usually work too well in rba's on regulated mods

the power is being split between two coils so at 9watts each coil is only getting 4.5 watts. try setting it up with a single coil and i am sure your results will improve.

Thanks, I was actually a little disappointed and a little excited when I saw Fasttech already put their own coils on it for me. I was excited to try it, but was kinda bummed cuz I wanted to get into my own. But hey, at least I got to mess around with it before I take it apart.

Also, drill out the hole in the igo. more airflow, more vapor. My clear cap on my igo-w has 2 1/8 holes.

I am going to bring it to my b&m this weekend and have them do it. Do I want two holes, or should I just keep one for now, run single coil and run it off my MVP?

First... the IGO needs two holes to run two coils... Now while you wait to have it drilled just take out the coils that are in it... Their coils will most likely suck bag... so make you own. But only run one for the single hole. It will work better for sure. The one is getting black because it has no air. Vape will just flat out suck too.

I think others have sorted out you Kayfun question. Screw on the bottom outside ring adjust air flow. if it is still tight after even taking that screw out, then something is up. Should not feel tight especially after vaping on that IGO with a maybe 1mm air hole that it has stock.

Hope that helps you some..welcome to the dark side :)

Yeah I have plans to worry about that tomorrow night while the lady is out. That way I can swear and tinker without getting that look of "what the HELL are you doing?" Just vaping on my PT3 and a spinner today while I wait to get to it. I'm excited, though. Went out and bought everything I'll need this weekend, so I'm good to go!

A piggy back question here... I also recently got an igo w. I tried to drill out the air hole, but I think my drill bit isn't enough to get the job done. Is there a special type of drill bit I need. I was going to use 1/16". Do I need carbide tip or ?

You would like to have a hardened tip yes... But if a you still have problems start with a smaller bit than the 1/16 to get the hole larger in stages if you follow my drift. I use the original hole to start and go all the way through the other side using it as a guide per say :)

Okay, that makes sense. I would have tried that today, but 1/16" was the smallest I had. Guess I need to go to the hardware store!

I will tell ya though, good luck finding smaller bits in town. I never did... I ordered them off ebay. But a hardened tip should get you better results. Use lubrication as well if you can... motor oil usually works fine. Might help you get her done :)

Edited to add:
If you hit Homedepot look for Dremel bits.. .there is a small set that has a smaller bit in it. But be careful it is not very strong. But might help you without waiting if you cannot get it done with 1/16th... Certain caps are made better and thicker than others and those will give the most fits. Like an RSST cap drills out super easy and dripper do not. :)

Right, my AGA cap drilled fine with this drill bit, but the igo cap is much thicker.
