Attempting to run a dual coil set up everything is going well except for the fact that i can't seem to get the center post properly wrapped with one of the coils, one coil heats up right in the coil where it's supposed too(this is also the cool that is wrapped around the center post first) but the second coil does not hear up red on the coil but on wire where I am attempting to wrap around the center post, I assume because I've heard it is hard to build a dual coil set up when you have to wrap around the heads if the screws (due to absence if holes in the clones posts) help, tips tricks suggestions ? Any help is much welcomed id like to get this build up and running

It's impossible to say without visual inspection, but usually if a section of coil doesn't light up it's because it's shorting out some place before the unlit section.

would a short also cause the entire vape to hear after only a couple of draws and cause the firing button on my k101 to get hot?

"...entire vape to hear..."? Not sure what you mean. But the fire button should never get hot. You have a short somewhere. Don't use the setup until you figure out where the short is and fix it.

+1^^ Check that coil by puling gently where it binds to the pos and neg posts make sure it isn't shorted to the base anywhere or a post. a good way to insure good connections is to wrap the coil leads completely around the binding posts.

Usually right where the wire stops being lit up is where the short is. If you're using a thick gauge wire like 28awg, then be very careful and don't fire it for any length of time at all when checking for shorts, in fact only do that as a last resort if careful visual inspecting and gentle tugging and pulling and reshaping with fine tweezers don't solve the problem.

If you remember where the wire stopped glowing, start your visual inspection and tweezering there. Make sure to turn the atty and examine the wire from lots of different angles, make sure you have plenty of light on the wire.

Thinner gauge wire has some safety built in since they'll pop and break. The thicker gauge wire won't break and the continual shorting can cause big and quite possibly hazardous problems with your battery and atty.
