IGO-W3 Quad Coil build has VERY scratchy TH

As the title says: Im getting a VERY harsh/scratchy Throat Hit from this build.
Build Specs:
-IGO-W3, Airflow adjusted as high as possible
-Twisted 30ga Kanthal quad-coil @ 0.4 Ohm (I was aiming for >0.5 BUT I am using a fresh Sony VTR4 30A battery to be as safe as possible)
-Organic Cotton wicks
-6mg 67/33 e-liquid (a jucie I vape OFTEN)

If I missed any info please let me know. The airflow on the W3 is pretty generous (I have the 4 Large Air "Slots" lined up)... but after searching the forums, my symptoms scream "poor airflow". Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated!

Hmm, When I dry fired the coils the heated up evenly, from the middle out and pretty rapidly... Could there still be a hot leg issue? I'll try to even them up a bit when I get home to be sure, Thanks!

Edit: Yes i have it lined up to the 4 "Slots" which are rather large and provide a lot of air flow. They're also as close to the coils as I could get them.

Is this your first dripper? Are the coils high off the deck? Reason I ask is because nic delivery in a dripper will give more throat hit. Also, if coils are high off the deck this will give more throat hit.

I DID stuff some extra cotton under my coils, which is something I dont normally do. So, yes, maybe they are a bit too high off of the deck. Good to know, thanks! No I have a few other drippers that I've had some success with... seems every 3rd-5th build this happens. I assumed it was an airflow issue so I bought a Castle Rda and this IGO-w3 for the large airflow. But Im going to trim the legs even and try to get the couils closer to the deck and see how/if it changes things. Thanks for the quick respeonses!

I would adjust coil height first. Putting cotton under the coils might of blocked the airways, worth checking.

Got impatient and I have some tools at work, so i moved the wick on top of the coils and the airflow was MUCH better. Its not nearly as scratchy but its an annoyingly HOT vape. Im thinking you maye be right, i'll have to trim the legs more evenly. But, its producing much more vapor w/out the burnt taste. Again, thank you!
