IHybrid weird taste?

hey everyone

So i got my IHybrid about 4-5 days ago and have been non stop fiddling with it. After getting some advice from the ihybrid thread, i tried out a twisted coil with 32ga kanthal and 400x400 mesh and a 3 wrap. When i first received the apv, i tried wrapping regular coils and they kept popping or id have the brightest hot spot ever. So after setting up the twisted coil....all the coils lit up fast and evenly. Now i have this thing making a huge amount of vapor but the taste is...off. Not a metallic taste but just no real "taste". Im vaping pluid if that helps any.

Do i need to let it break in? did i do something wrong? The taste gives me a headache (could be from the 20mg juice that i dont normally vape).

Well if you're vaping pluid you should definitely be able to taste something...so there's definitely something wrong here...

Wish I could help more :-/...if it were me I would drain the tank and check the coils again...then I would make sure it's wicking fine. (Fill the tank back up, burn all the juice off, then give it a tilt to make sure juice is making it back to the wick...)

If it is making vapor, maybe you are having one of those "off" taste days? Sometimes the poor old taste buds just get overwhelmed I guess, I have had a few days like that.

I don't have experience with the woven coil method, but I'm wondering about the mesh...are you sure it's 400, and are you sure it's 304 or 316 stainless?

Is it a solid wick or a straw-shaped wick?
