So I have an Ego and the iHybrid. Ego vaps just fine. iHybrid vaps fine on the 18350 battery with 400 steel mesh. But when I put the 18650 bat in the vap is way too hot, burns my throat. I have 50%vg50%pg juice and one juice that is straight pg. I tried making a thick wink, a thin wick, a hollow wick, I tried different wraps of coil(32ga),i.e. 3wraps, 4wraps, etc. It's just too hot for me. What's the best setup combination for the 18650?

Welcome , but as said , not really a clear answer . I had a Clockworks RDA , that was fine on an Ego , but tasted harsh on anything above 3.7 volts . Got rid of it , and moved on . Now use an ODY , and a Penelope , as well as a V2 Line . Have no trouble with any of those . But if you know how to use a multimeter , and you pre-condition your coil , you should be able to make a higher resistance coil , that won't be so harsh . Good luck .

Hey, another Texas vaper!!! Right on!!

This definitely seems like a strange issue. The 18350 and 18650 are both 3.7v batteries, one just lasts longer than the other. don't really see why the battery itself would cause the same atomizer to act differently

I use my 18650 and my 18490 batteries on the Provari with the same settings and there is absolutely no difference. On whim, I threw the same atomizer on a mod that uses 18350, still exact same performance.

Point is, 2 batteries at the same voltage should be the exact same performance unless one is really low and the other is a fresh charge. Even then they wouldn't be so far apart to explain that drastic a difference.

Good luck man.....
