I finally got my hands on the Ikenvape cartomizer standard size last week. I tried this carto for the very first time and not sure if these two things are normal characteristics of the Ikenvape cartos

1 - The carto takes longer to fill than the smoktech cart0. Way more denser material.

2 - The draw is much tighter than the smoktech carto.

These 2 things normal for the Ikenvape cartos?

I've been using Ikenvape's 510 MEGA Platinum Punch and the 510 MEGA Platinum for a few weeks now. The cartos hold at least 60+ drops before they are adequately saturated. They also to me have a much looser draw compared to smoktek's cartos. IMO these are some of the best cartos I've had in the past couple years.

Smoktech cartos have a less dense filler, which makes them easier to absorb juice. Also makes them easier to flood.

Boges have a denser filler, which makes them slower to absorb juice, and less likely to flood.

I find Ikenvapes to be a happy medium. I don't recall a difference in draw between either of the three carto brands, although my experience with Boges is quite limited.

I have no way to confirm this, but rumor is Ikenvapes are manufactured by Boge for Ikenvape. They are made to different specifications and standards than the usual Boge cartos, and likely have different inner materials. Whoever the manufacturer of Ikenvapes is, they limit the number of cartomizers that Ikenvape can purchase, hense the limited availablility of these premium cartomizers.

Thanks Baditude. I know everyone swears by these Ikenvape cartos but so far they are not working out for me. I have 2 of them in 2 different Ibtanks with different ejuice. Same on both, tight draw. I am not saying they don't work. However with the smoketech I get more vape smoke and easier draw, not to mention easier to fill.

I guess it's a good thing I don't like them since they are so hard to get :)

Second thought, after trying the Ikenvape cartos, they really are premium quality. I guess I was just used to Smoktech cartos when it came to filling them quicker and the draw. I could probably deal with the longer time needed to fill them but one thing I miss is the flanges. I like those at the bottom.

Just curious Baditude, on one post you mentioned your back up was Smoktech cartos when Ikenvape cartos are not available. Considering the Boges have a dense filling like the Ikenvape cartos, why not go to Boges?

I have to admit that I have only tried a batch of Boges about a year ago. I did not care for the longer time it took to fill them, and did not care for the flavor production that I got from them. Admittedly, this was around the time of "Boge Gate", when the quality of Boges took a nosedive for mysterious reasons. I was relatively happy with the Smoktechs, and extremely pleased with the Ikenvapes when I began using them, so I have not felt the need to try Boges again.

I don't find the Ikenvapes any more difficult to fill than the Smoktechs with my drip & shake technique described in my blog. I also have not observed the difference in draw that you described. I actually don't care if a carto has a flange or not. With the tanks that I primarily use (IBTanked), they fit snug on the cartomizer so that there is no need for a flange. The Ikenvape 510 Fusions do have a flange.

I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but you said you purchased LR Ikenvapes. I use standard resistance Ikenvapes. The vendor once made a mistake and sent me LR by mistake, and I did not like them at all, as I prefer the cooler vape I get with standard resistance. Just an observation.

Not everyone will appreciate an Ikenvape, because like any juice delivery device, preference is subjective to one's individual expectations and perceptions. You make a great point: If you aren't able to appreciate the better quality of an Ikenvape, then get the more easily available Smoktech's. :)

Thanks for your response Baditude. I guess the only thing that I am difficulty with is the ease of filling the Ikenvape. Using the drip and shake method still took a while for the juice to soak in the filler. That was negative part for me. The smoktech works perfectly using your method.

Since I have a few of them left I figure I will try using the THINGY method from Ibtanked. Figured 1ml will fill a standard carto ( you were right by the way, 1ml does the trick ) and the tank fills 1.5ml. So When the carto absorbs most of the juice I will know I am on point using the THINGY.

You are correct, Ibtank fits snug on the carto, but I need a flange because I am a noob :p when I refill the carto some times the battery end of the carto goes in the tank when I try and remove the drip tip.

Yep! Mega = XL. I just got my order of Ikenvape mega platinums. Didnt think id notice a HUGE difference but boy was i surprised. If you look at the connector side of Boge vs Smoktech, you will see that Boges have a larger center hole. Noticeably larger. Looking at the Ikenvapes, they look exactly like Boges. Will it hold up in court? Probably not, but without taking exact measurements, they are identical to Boges

Not sure overall what makes Ikenvapes better than Boges. Haven't taken one apart yet but it could be the filler material and possibly orientation of the coil (horizontal vs vertical). Again, I haven't taken one apart to confirm this but I've tried Smok dual and single coil, Boge singles and Ikenvapes and I'd say Ikenvape wins on all fronts!
