The thing was working flawlessly for the whole day yesterday. This morning I was drinking the juice out of the carto when drawing. Battery post flooded. I tried blowing it out but it just kept spitting out more and more. I tried another carto, same prime, worked good for a few hits, tried again 15 minutes later, burned dry hits. Did a few hard draws to prime, then flood, flood, flood. WTH?

Now i'm trying yet another carto. I don't have many left. Lets see how that goes. My PT 2 mini saved me. I got a good tank and good carto and problems still plague me. Cigarettes were so much simpler. If someone told me there was a sure-proof, hassle free product for the juice I'd buy it no matter what the cost at this point.

I primed my carto with about 20 drops of juice. Is that enough for an XL size? I tried a second carto with Peachy Criminal and I'm really trying hard to find the flavor. That's all that missing.

Just read this whole thread and I feel your pain (as Bill Clinton would say :p)

I have an IBT tank filled with Peachy Criminal and enjoying it just now. Great flavor and good vapor. I used up a couple of cartos at the very first, until I got it right... and "right" for me, was to prime my cartos using the IBT "thingy" (shipping bottle). If you haven't tried doing it that way, you might want to give it a shot.

The method that works for me best is to drop a dozen or so drops of eliquid into the carto (using a toothpick to seal off the center hole), then put the carto into it's tank (in this case an IBT 19mm standard). Then fill the tank about 80% full. At this point I then put the filled tank into the "thingy" it came shipped in and proceed to screw the lid on and off a couple of dozen times. You'll see bubbles as the carto takes on juice and loses air.

Works like a dream, I don't get dry hits and I don't get flooding or leaking onto the battery post of my MVP. This, btw is using either 100%VG juices or 90%VG (which is what my Peachy Criminal is). Full flavor and vapor, when I do it this way. Smok cartos btw, SR, 2-hole punched.

I do, tend to have some difficulty with Ikenvape cartos (punched) when using these thicker, VG juices. YMMV...

For me the shake down method Baditude uses works great but i am lazy. What I use is the condom method. Once saturated I just let it sit for about 15 minutes especially with cartos with thicker filler material. Once it is inserted into a filled tank I let it sit for another period of time; blow out the 510 connection to clear the center hole before vaping. For me this works no dry hits, flooding or burnt filler.

For the cartos to me because I tend to vape very high VG juice there is no better IMHO than the Ikenvape SR Platinum S slotted cartos. I also like Boge but for the few extra cents Ikenvape are well worth it. If you are vaping thick juice and using punched cartos I believe you are missing the fine draw and flavor slotted cartos deliver.

If you are using e-liquids of an extremely thick viscosity (100% vg, or close to it), or darker flavors, ANY juice delivery attachment that uses a "wick system" of either polyfill (cartomizers) or silica string wicks (clearomizers) will have issues of adequate wicking at some point. That's the price you pay for choosing these liquids.

If your vendor offers custom mixes of your e-liquids, request a thinner vg mix in the comments section of your order, or check a more balanced pg/vg ratio if that is an option. Alternatively, you can thin your thick liquids yourself, with either 100% pg or distilled water to thin them yourself. Experiment as to how much; this is not rocket science.

If you insist on using liquids of thicker viscosity and can't get them to wick adequately in your cartos or clearos, then consider a drip atomizer or a bottom feeder box mod using an atomizer. A 510 atomizer uses no wicking substances; you drip directly onto the heating coil. A dripping atomizer used on a bottom feeding box mod combines the superior flavor of an atomizer with the added convenience of a tank. There are many vapers who once they have used a bottom feeder mod like a Reo who will use nothing else because they love how they will accept thicker e-liquds and provide the best flavor because there is no wick material to alter the flavor.

IS IT A CARTO, A TANK, OR WHAT?
