IKV 901 - What's in it for me?

I'm pleased to report that today's tests were conclusive!
I tested an IKV 1.8 ohm Stealth 901 against an SLB standard 1.7 ohm. Both metered out at 1.6 ohms, even Steven. Both started out new and dry. I vaped the same juice in each. I didn't use a shield on either. For the juice I chose 100% VG, something I don't normally vape but which I figured might make differences in vapor and flavor more obvious.

The Iken absolutely outshined the standard in every area. Much more flavor, MUCH more vapor. The throat hit is about even, though the Iken proved to be more conservative with juice, leading to the standard giving more "dry" TH. Leaking wasn't an issue on either, though that may be due to whatever expertise I have. I couldn't bring myself to *purposely* make them leak.

That's it in a nutshell. I know where I'll be buying my 901s.

2 different atties, two different performances. They each have their place in an arsenal or we would all be vaping the same atties.

I've gotten 9 Ikenvape attys so far (I'd hate to run out ever) and my latest is the IKV 901 LR. I just have to say that if Isaac had invented the 901, drip shields would have been invented for 510s instead.

In a couple of weeks I've seen minor leaks only a few times and then only because I wasn't really paying attention. After the first couple of days of using it, I took it off to swap devices and I it was the first time ever that I saw the atty connector on my mod BONE DRY.

I've already acquired a 2nd 901 LR in the unlikely event the first one dies anytime soon. (I've yet to see an Ikenvape atty die despite vaping a lot of VG heavy juices.)

I'm hesitant to try other more expensive atomizers now. (But will probably have to anyway, haha!)

can these 901s be used with a bottom feeder, say a Reo Grand? if so, will my stealth 510-801 with open center post adapter work?

Nope! It requires a 510 to 901 adapter.

The last few days I've been waaay into an IKV 901 since I picked up a Super 6 with a 901 cap. What a combination! The performance of the atty coupled with the performance and exquisite machined aluminum beauty of the S6 makes it really difficult to put down. A fantastic 14500 mod.

Since Isaac is open again I thought I'd better resurrect this moldy old thread and urge you to try some IKV 901s if you haven't already. The 1.8 ohmers are a fantastic vape. Best on a native 901 connection, of course.

The 1.8s are great. Been using them on my Reos for a while now and cant wait to restock my supply. I'm just getting into VV vaping and was wondering about the 3.5 version. If I set it up to get about the same wattage as with the 1.8 @ say 3.8volts, will there be any noticeable difference? Is there something inherently different to HV vaping?

Some people only have 6volt PVs and need the higher resistance atty's and cartos. I vape around 4.5 to 5 volts and use the 2 to 2.5 ohm cartos. As long as the wattage you vape at remains close using HV with higher voltage will give you the same as lower resistance atty's at lower voltages.

Both 1.8s and 3.5s work for me on vv devices. I haven't detected any real difference in performance between the two. Like 5card said, it's really a matter of watts.

Right now these are my favorite atty (though the i06 is close behind).
