It sounds like it's your adapter. I used to run my nautilus with the adapter and a beauty ring (just for aesthetic appeal) and after about a month my istick was reading anywhere from 1 ohm to 3 ohms and it would just bounce around. As soon as I'd take it off the adapter and thread it straight into the mod it would read the proper resistance

You mean the coil will thread directly into the mod? I have a different tank on right now but in a while, ill go to the truck for the nautilus tank and try that! Mine is not bouncing around but what if that is the case? Anything I can do to help? I cant fire it with the coil directly in the hole can I?
What is the adapter anyway, I mean adapt from what? I dont mean to sound goofy but when would I NOT need the adapter?
Sheez.... a whole new set of questions. Sure was easy to just fire up a cig! Not that I want to anymore but it was much simpler.

Yea, I figure one thing out a find another problem... such as, I think I just learned I can screw the coil right into the battery!?! Can I run it that way?
Im going to the truck to get a coil to see how this thing works!
You people are great to work with!
Time lapse.....
I just answered my own question. Nope I cant thread the coil into the mod. I got excited for nothing. Only thought I learned something new....

Ok, so how do I do it without the adapter, just to see if it makes a difference? I feel I am pretty mechanically inclined (Im a 25yr locksmith) but cant figure it out..

Your best bet is to just buy a different adapter. They're really cheap. Or if you want to upgrade you could pick up a Nautilus tank then you shouldn't have any problems.

No, you can't screw the coil itself into the battery - the adapter thing is a small metal bit to convert from one type of screwing system (the 510, what you have on the iStick and on the Nautilus) to another type (the eGo, what you had on the pen-style battery and on the mini Protank). No adapter needed between the iStick and the Nautilus - the Nautilus's base piece screws directly into the iStick. (You can put an adapter + ring in between though - as Dimdavid described above - just for the heck of it, but it's not needed.)

You tried checking the coil without the tank attached? You know that base piece which the coil screws into - screw that base with the coil in it (but without the rest of the tank) into the iStick, press one of the up/down buttons to get the ohm-reading displayed. If it's still off, even with the stock nautilus coil, then it sounds the battery is at fault - can you possibly return / exchange it?
