ILooking to find out how stress affects craving for analogs...

I bought 24 mg juice although I smoked ultralights and was about a pack a day smoker. When I first started it took a few days to get used to the way you smoke differently with an e-cig and I was smoking about half the analogs, mostly because the strength seemed too strong. I used to smoke ultralights and I'm not sure if that is the reason. This was only a few weeks ago but I went though a lot of stress this week and suddenly felt like I needed more analogs. I had been starting to taper down on analogs a bit. I haven't had a chance to order different strengths yet but will in the next week or so.

How much of the switching over preocess has to do with the transition from different nicotine strengths and how much from stress? Dosome people still crave the analogs more when they're stressed? especially when they are stressed....

Is there any adjustment that can be made for that to help keep moving things toward the e-cigs rather than the analogs?

I honestly believe the 24 mg juice was a little too high and yet it still isn't enough to keep me from stress analog cravings...any thoughts????

I want to stop smoking so many analogs!!!!!

You could be experiencing some withdrawal as well. Even after a little over a year, I still crave a smoke when things go totally wrong. I just don't let myself do it. I hit on a higher mg juice a bit until it passes. Just remember, that your withdrawing some from the lack of all the toxics that your body is used too. Stress doesn't help matters either but maybe do a little exercise to help relieve it.

Since you said the mg "feels" like it's too high, then it is. Drop down to either 12 or 18mg strength. If you know the nic is too high, you can't use your PV like you smoke or you'll make yourself sick. Since you can't use it in that manner, lowering your nic will allow you to vape more often and steadily and may very well curve your cravings all together.

Thanks Hairball for your comment... I was starting to think that because the nic seemed a little high I couldn't vape as often and sometimes I just wanted a "normal" hit on a cig! I'm trying to figure out what to order next month for my 2nd order to help me. I'm on a very limited budget and the higher up you go with products, the more expensive the replacements get so that is a concern.

Having a really stressful week changed things though because the vaping seemed less satisfying and I wanted more analogs. I was wondering if that's a craving for the other junk in the analogs or a miscalculation on the nicotine. If it takes me awhile to give up every single analog I could live with that, but I feel like what's the point if I still crave them a lot???

1 - Get your equipment in order - a strong enough model for your habit, and I recommend cartomizers, and work to find juices that satisfy and relax you with their hit and aroma. Some new vapers need tobacco flavors to be satisfied. Some need to stay away from tobacco flavors to be satisfied. Figure out which you are. And you have to smell the vapor - most of the flavor cues are in the aroma.

2 - Buy spares, get a charger for work, a second for at home, spare battery, etc. I actually set up the spare late night, and I always use cartomizers so there is nothing to fight with (atomizers drove me nuts), and I leave that one set up overnight so in the morning I can pick it up and vape

3 - If you are new to vaping and need your cigs as a security blanket, at least stick them in the wrong pocket and your ecigs in the old cigarette pocket so you don't light a cig by accident. Always vape first. When I carried mine it was only in case I had an equipment problem.

4 - When ready, stick the cigs and lighter in a zip lock bag and put them in the trunk of your car

Vaping satisfies my need for stress relief. I think you are not trying hard enough to find a setup and juice that approximates what you want. Try 16-18mg and even 10-12mg juices. buy decent juices with a bit of VG in them (I use 80PG/20VG for good flavor and hit but smoothed a bit with a bit of vapor added).

I know for a fact that stress or even a mild discomfort was the trigger to reach for cigarettes. I have been through very stressful times during this past year and my thought was "Cigarette!....oh wait I don't use those anymore, now I have my PV." What followed was rather odd because as soon as I thought of my PV, I no longer craved cigarettes or the PV itself. It was as if my mind actually relaxed knowing there is a good alternative to cigarettes, so I no longer had to worry about it. I haven't thought about cigarettes in many months.

Concerning the cravings, how happy are you with your PV (e-cig)? Do you have to fight with it to get that perfect feeling? Is there something about the process that bothers/annoys you? Prior to making the switch, I closely monitored what I enjoyed about smoking and tried my absolute best to replicate it. I have gotten extremely close. Close enough to know I am never going back!

For whatever it's worth, that's what I discovered........

That craving hit me about the same time as it's hitting you. It's not really a cig craving. Like I said, it's all the other garbage that we've put in our bodies. Drink tons of water to help flush it out. It'll pass. If you still need a cig, smoke one. I look at it like this, for every cig you didn't smoke, that's farther you pulled your foot out of the grave. Don't be hard on yourself. If you need one, smoke it, then go back to your ecig. I think you need a little lower so you can puff like you did while smoking. I started out making that same mistake. Too high a nic and couldn't chainvape. Chainvaping was what I needed because I was a chainsmoker. I just had to tough out the other withdrawal but it'll pass.

I'm wondering, then, if you got a lower nic juice, then you could chain vape. Keeping your mouth and hands occupied really will take the desire for a cigarette away. I have been vaping 6 weeks. The first week I smoked some. Then it was one here one there. I tried one last week and it was so gross, I took two puffs and threw it out. I used 18 mg. for 4 weeks, tried 24 mg but it was too high for me too. Now I am switching to 12 mg, and sometimes even vape 6 mg if I want to chain vape without getting all jittery.

I had to really fight the urge to smoke when I was stressed for the first few weeks after I switched esspecaily when somebody at work was being a fricking jerk it was tough but I was determined not to smoke I had some small bottles 36ml for those times and I just vape through it but there was several time I almost didn't make it the stress seemed overwhelming at times. but just stick with it if you still smoke a few a day don't beat yourself up about it just think how many you didn't smoke.

I vape 20 mg during the day and when I switch to 10 mg in the evening I notice a little stress and for the first hour I pretty well chain vape. As previously mentioned it could be you need a stronger PV to stave off those cravings. Your Nic level seems to be adequate. You've been successful up to this point and if you need an analog smoke one. Eventually the day will come whereby you prefer vaping to analogs.
Good Luck, Vapoor and Happy New Year.
