Hello to all. I've been vaping since the first of the year so I guess I'm a noob, but I'm not your average noob.
I got started on the vaping trail when my SIL gave me a vision spinner and V-hit Reload (for vaping -um- dry tobacco...and other things) for Christmas. He also gave my wife a spinner and evod tank with tasty 0 nic juice to cut down on her snacking. As a 2 PAD smoker (who got constantly nagged by my family for the cost) I got intrigued by her setup, tried it and found that I enjoy vapor as much as I do smoke.

On a lark, while picking up my weekly carton of cigs I also got a bottle of NOGSJ (nasty ol' gas station juice) and sort of enjoyed it but it had a funny aftertaste and was 24mg so I took a trip to my local B/M for some TD3 tanks and better tasting juice in a more reasonable nic strength (although I was a heavy smoker I smoke light cigs.) After a week I decided that it just wasn't doing the job. It seems that cheap drop in coils couldn't handle my chain vaping high VG juice. If this was gonna be my new hobby I couldn't take the chance of a coil popping at 3 a.m. So after after much online research I went back to the B/M for my first RBA (Mutation X v1) and box mod (MVP 2.0). After a weak of that I got afraid of running out of juice at 3 a.m. so I made my first online order for DIY juice supplies from MFS. No looking back, full steam (vapor?) ahead!

As to the thread title, I am currently rocking a pair of Isticks (one 30w one 50w) each with it's own dedicated Dark Horse RDA (one for my light ADV and the other for darker/heavier after midnight juice) with .8 ohm dual sleeper coils and Walgreens OC wicks. I'm not a cloud chaser, although I like my clouds just a wee bit denser than my analog's smoke. I think of myself as a flavor chaser but most store bought juice is too strongly flavored for my taste. So I'm sub-ohming on a chuff cap RDA but with low watts and I do a light mouth to nose hit, sort of light smoking a cigar or pipe, hence TootleChuffer. Now my vaping hipster kids come to me for equipment and DIY advice. ;)

nice avatar I think you have come to the right place there is a ton of wisdom here and loads of ways you can be helpful too - welcome I too am into the DIY juice but I don't have a truly great one yet - I wasn't going to buy anymore store bought but I dropped in to the B & M and was given such a good deal I couldn't resist -apparently they are considering getting into DIY supplies I think this is wise and having vape classes and guest speakers would be a smart move too

Thanks for the heads up on the Istick50 Yusef. I got mine very recently so I'm pretty sure it's one of the new chipsets. I'm also very ocd about charging. I've read that lipo bats like to be topped off early and often so I never let it get less than half charge.
Good on you for battery safety. The only way to make sure that Istick is a new one is to buy it directly from eleaf. It's not a chip issue, just a connection issue. I hope it'll be ok though. Enjoy ECF! It's a walled garden, but it's a nice one.
