I had a couple of atty's that were working great then I suspected they were getting flooded so I cleaned them with alcohol and water, let dry for 16 hrs as recommended (joy 501) and now they're not acting the same at all! After a couple of drags I get a burning taste like the cartridge is dry but it's not...so I drop a couple on the atty and that's ok for a very short time then more burning. Plus the hit isn't as good yet I'm getting good vapor. What have I done wrong? Are my atty's dead?

I have found that after cleaning it takes a while to get them going again. If you are just dripping I would suggest removing the bridge and the wick. They trap flavors that are hard to get out.
REMOVE them?? How? And if there's no wick...well I'm really new to this so I just don't get it. None of the mods have worked for me either LOL.

If you remove the bridge the silver piece on the atty you won't be able to do anything but drip. There is a video around here someplace that shows how to do it. But it's really not that hard you just have to be carefull.

If you have an atty that you can't get right start with it. You take something like a toothpick or a chopstick and lightly push the bridge over on it's side. The coil is what makes an atty function, it's like a fillament from a lightbulb. It's directly under the bridge, if you break it there is no way to fix it. Once you have pushed the bridge to the side you lightly push it around until you can pull it out with a pair of tweezers or needle nose pliers, this includes the little metal peace that holds it in place. If it's not pulling up don't force it at all. You can pull up the coil and disconect it. Just work it around some more untill it comes free.

This has worked great for me and many others. without the bridge you will be dripping straight onto the coil. You should get a slightly bigger hit and the burnt taste will go away.

It's not as hard as it sounds but it is really important to do it gently. I have not killed an atty yet doing this (knock on wood) Just take your time. About a third of the people prefer dripping so it's not for everyone. However, it makes things much easier for me.

If anyone can find the video please post it.

I'm not sure that applies to me...he says don't use it if you're a cart user? I use a cart.

Anyway so NOW what's going on is it's not tasting burnt anymore it just doesn't taste real good. Kind of sour? Like my English toffee sat in the sun really really too long or some critter peed on it. Yeah that's it. Sigh. I'd blame the puppy but she's in her crib so that ain't it.

Oh you addressed the cart thing sorry.

You might be stuck with the taste thing. I like mist, never clean my attys, I just blow them out and drain them. I also have on occasion done a burn on them. Once I had mixed this really strong pizza flavored e-liquid and just could not get the taste out of the atty so I had to trash it or just use if I wanted more pizza taste.

Semi-unrelated, but curious. What did he do to get the big ole ball of vapor and how did he do it? Totally trippy party trick!!

He blew smoke into a clear balloon (condom, maybe) and let it fall onto a needle or some kind of point that he held in his hand. The trick is "how did he tie the knot one handed and let it fall?" May be it was already filled and tied and he just simulated blowing into it.

Anyway, it was a good effect...
