I'm fairly new to this... I love my Atlantis but should I get another or go with a Kanger sub mini?

So Cal
I am seeing the benefit of having more than one clearo.

As a relative newb, I've been through the following attys:

  • Aspire ETS clearo
  • Kanger aerotank v.1
  • Now running an Atlantis!

As more experienced vapers, what are your opinions on sticking with the same tank vs trying different tanks?

I know if I had 2 of the same that I'd only have to worry about 1 atomizer to keep in stock, and that working with it would be greatly simplified over having 2 or more different models/brands.

However the RBA on the kanger sub mini is attractive to me... not sure if Aspire will be forced to produce an RBA to compete with this and the new SMOK subber coming soon.

Now let the opinions fly...

Stick with what works for you. Don't let the "latest and greatest" fool you into thinking you must have it in order to get a great vape!

No, I agree with you... However, I am seeing the need for owning multiple tanks to ease the juice change and clean process. So with those two things in mind I am considering a 2nd tank. I don't see any advantage to have two if the same tanks except for the ability to always have spare clean coils.

Thoughts???

I'm the minority in the group. I think the Atlantis wins hands down without any work. The Subtank as it comes uses to little cotton on to little coils. OCCs need replaced every two days. now if you want to modify them go ahead, but I just soon buy a separate RBA,Jig,Cotton and do my own in something with a little more room.

just my oppinion

SO far the sub tank mini is beating the bigger sub tank in airflow and sales... I have no interest in the big guy, but the mini looks to be a great clearo!

Sub Tank - Too Big and bulky for most mini mods
Sub Tank Nano - Too Small
Sub Tank Mini - Just Right

imo the only reason to stick to the same tank is if you can't afford to try out others; or you got something so rock solid like a reo, you never feel the need to get something better.

most tanks have some sort of drawback; for example the three you listed all require you to basically keep purchasing replacement coil heads.

glass tanks have the drawback that they might break; if you can pick up a 10pack of replacement glass tubes that ought to set you up for a while, but ideally a metal jacket like on this 'heavy taste' I got is better:

or this 'triangle window' which I couldn't order at the time because of a paypal problem

Another thing is how to refill the tank, and whether you can open it up with the liquid inside to adjust/replace the coil or wick; that was my main problem with the kayfun3.1

Well that's a big point there; back when I was using protanks, I bought a 10pack of miniprotanks.
Meanwhile my main vape was 4 protanks which I used on miniprotank bases;
those 4 protanks (they were protank1's) broke one by one (all in the same spot btw; something to do with glue/expoxy and metal and glass); then I got another 4 protank2's and a 10pack of replacement tubes to go with them; shortly after that I got a 7 pack of miniaerotanks which was going to be my main vape, but around that time I discovered the $1 Swiss post option for using fasttech and my vapemail with a couple rda's finally came in plus I also picked up a kayfun.

I never did try for an Aspire because I didn't want to have to stock another set of atomizer heads - plus at my location, I can get locally the old protank single coil heads because they get sold at places that supply the popular evod type starter kits.

So in the world of Clearos, yes, there is a financial incentive to stick with one brand because of incompatibility of the atomizer head.
Which is one reason to get out of clearos.

I got the Atlantis, 2 in fact. They are good. But then I swithced one out with the Subtank. That lead me to another Subtank. Now 2 mini subtanks. I would get the Subtank and call it a day. Great tank, great flavor and heads are easy to rebuild. The Subtank mini is a great size, although I still use the original 2 subs, the Atlantis are in a drawer. I even pulled one out the other day and juiced it up to see if it was just hype or excitement of a new tank. Nope......the flavor of the Subtank kills the Atlantis. Also easier to fill the Subtank, and the heads are OCC wick, not ceramic like the Atlantis. .02 of course.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards the sub mini because of the RBA, and I don't want/need a huge sub on my ipv mini. There isn't that much price diff between the Aspire and the Kangers, so that isn't a factor. I think I can rebuild the OCC easier than the Aspire BDC's, but I have successfully done them both with new coils and just rewicking the stock coils. I prefer the Atlantis taste after rewicking with the cotton (Japanese cotton).

You've got some good advice on the Kanger Subtank. If your looking for something a little less expensive you may want to look into these. I personally haven't tried one, but I've heard good things about them. For $9 you can't go wrong! BTW...they are made by Eleaf

Electronic Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette - Vapor Cigarette Buy the Best Eleaf GS AIR 20W Clearomizer from www.evape.us

Thanks for that suggestion, however that tank isn't in the same class.

I'm looking at strictly sub ohm clearos, I have a mod that supports them and I like the way they work for me!

Right behind you...
You could try the Eleaf Melo. That way you get a new, visually distinct tank to play with but can mix and match coil heads. The Melo has cotton-wicked 0.5ohm vertical coils that are interchangeable with Atlantis heads in both clearos, and a wee bit cheaper than the Aspire heads if you're buying a lot of replacements.

It's also be had for as low as $20.

THE PLOT THICKENS!!!

The fact that these Organic Cotton Melo heads will fit into the Atlantis is a big plus! At only $20 it's worth a shot! They are currently pre-order only, so I'll wait a lil bit and probably order one and some heads to compare!

My best friend has an Atlantis... I was going to get one but then I saw Kanger and the subtank... Saw the issuesbthe original one had but then noticed they had a mini and nano version....

The More i looked into it the mini seemed to have fixed the problems with the original subtank, was a perfect size, don't have to unscrew anything to use the rba.

I've used the rba, its pretty sweet, but I've been using the .5ohm occ coil for over a week now and it is still running great. Easy to rebuild from the looks of it. U can always just use the rba alternatively for an even easier way to rebuild coils.

All in all compared to the Atlantis I lime it better. More options, definantly more flavor, vapor is pretty much the same.

The other cool thing is the design and the awesome red o rings make it look bad .... Wish they had an option for diff color o rings but red is awesome anyways. The Atlantis looks plain jane...

I'd go with the Kanger subtank mini. It can be found for around 35-40 bucks.

Hope this helps!
