I will be be getting a Provari P3 the minute I get my income tax check. I really want to try a sub ohm tank since they are clearly the way the clearo industry is going and plus I would kind of like to blow some bigger clouds than what I can currently get with my nautilus mini. I am looking for a sub ohm tank that has a 1 ohm coil available, or maybe even a .8 ohm coil. I know the Kanger subtank has a much wider selection of resistances available, but my experience with kanger has left much to be desired. My Pro Tank 2 leaked and had the most inconsistent airflow and it has been sitting in a drawer of mine for a long long time. After using my nautilus I have grown to greatly appreciate what aspire is doing. The atlantis is so incredibly appealing I can't describe it. I just want to pop that baby on my P3 when I get it and vape away. Although they don't offer a coil that will currently fire on the P3 . I have also been looking a lot at the upcoming Eleaf MELO, but they too as of now do not offer a .8 or 1 ohm coil.

So I find myself in a bit of a quandary. How do I sub ohm without rebuilding on my P3? Do I wait to see if Eleaf or Aspire release .8 or 1 ohm coils for their respective sub ohm tanks or do I stick with a nautilus mini?

(Note I will be selling my current setup which is a ProVari mini 2.5 with a nautilus mini, therefore having to replace my nautilus)

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Howdy,

There is a bit of a work up and theory that comes in to as you say "Blowing bigger clouds" then just the oHm's alone. Something to keep in mind is what is exactly going on when you fire an atomizer.
When you vape, the coil heats up and produces vapor, but at a point and time it will reach a point called supersaturation which essentially is the point at which no further molecules can fit in to a given space if is not replaced by space that is not filled with a suspension (typically drawing in to replace that) aka airflow.

Ok, so with that given said also keep in mind that reduction in chamber space and or chimney will limit the draw at which you can replace that space, along with air flow. The faster you can replace that space the faster it can atomize (Within a point) and the more vapor you will produce. I know a lot of folks have mentioned "Dense thick vapor" that is because it has reached a state of supersaturation in the vapor, this can only be achieved by replacement of airspace to allow the vaporization process to continue.

Moving forward knowing this, so you want bigger clouds then then another solution would be a long, slow, smooth draw much like I remember on the 306 attys and carto's of the day. I could pull off small storms with them just by taking nice, long slow pulls and letting the atomizer do its thing (Still works today as well).

A unique test to try if you like, run a 32 gauge micro coil say 6 wraps, 1.2mm-1.5mm and see how fast that heats up for you. Yah it will be high ohm but the diameter of the wire should be near instant heat for you and more then fast enough to atomize at an amazing pace (the cisco 306 atomizer used 32 to 36 gauge kanthal wire for instance).

Just a thought on that one, hope it helps :)

Have you considered getting the P3 threaded Nautilus tank from ProVape?

I have thought about it but I also don't want something that big and I also don't like the metal sleeve around the nautilus. The search for my perfect clearo continues...If Eleaf comes out with a 1 ohm coil for the MELO or if Aspire comes out with a 1 ohm coil for the Atlantis I will be set. Until then I will probably just hang on to my nautilus mini. I will play around with the settings on my P3 once I get it and use the boost mode and such which should help a little bit.

Still opened to suggestions though.

Look into a Lemo rta tank.
It comes with a pre-built 1.2 ohm coil and when you get more experience you can build a coil to match .7 which is only what the Provari will handle. If you truly want to sub ohm and blow huge clouds then look into a IPV3 or DNA40 or even the new Istick 50 watt device and then you can totally build a coil at .2 and blow your clouds.
