Ok... been smoking the ego-t now for a couple of months and find it is much harder on my
throat that the 808-d.

I have tried different liquids in the ego, but with the same result... Harsh.
So I am gravitating back to my original cartomizer 808..

Only problem.. there is NOTHING like a fresh popping new fliter on one but I go through a ton.
When I drip liquid, it just.. isn't ...the same.

What's a poor vaper to do? :(

Refill your cartos. I only use soft-cap KR808D-1 cartos like the Vapor4Life prefills or blanks

But if you have auto batteries you need to be extra careful a carto is not going to leak before putting it back on an auto battery.

You can get a 510 to 901/808 adapter at goodprophets.com for 99 cents and use the KR8 cartos on the Ego. I use Boge 510 cartos on my Riva (Ego clone). The standard resistance ones should not be too harsh. The LR ones are the hotter ones. I get the Boges at LiteCigUSA.net and elsewhere.

Another trick to explore is using the button as a heat controller. The trick is to keep your pulls long and slow, five or six seconds, but release the button early in the draw--experiment to find the amount of time to hold it. Another example, say you've slightly flooded your atty, preheat a little by holding the button a sec or two before starting your draw and keep it on for the complete draw for a couple of pulls until the atty starts producing better. Since our mouth is pretty sensitive to heat, with a little experimenting you get pretty good at automatically firing the button the correct amount of time.

For me, the juice I'm vaping makes a big difference in how warm I want it to be, and a juice called MLB makes the perfect example. It's one of the old time mixes, designed to work with the old low vapor systems. I love it at cool temps, but man, warm that stuff up a little and it gets harsh and nasty in a heart beat.

I've recently been trying cartos again and I'm vaping a 2.0 ohm smok tech at the moment. I'm enjoying it but I think it does cook the juice a little and change the flavor slightly. It doesn't taste bad at all--just different from dripping. I've started topping it off frequently - about five drops at a time - which helps but still now as fresh as dripping lol. :vapor:
