I way over-payed for V2... You can get the same equipment for much, much less from other vendors. Vapor4Life sells the same thing for much less, and you might also want to look at some Joye 510 kits for a similar, though different alternative in the same price range.

I like what V2 sells, though. It's a rebranded KR808. The cartomizers cut down on the learning curve. Just make sure you order some blank ones and order some juice you might like to fill them with. The pre-filled cartomizers are usually pretty lousy, which turns off lots of people on their first experience...

Also, you should read this series (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ping-illustrated-guide-e-cigs-part-1-6-a.html). Lots of good information on all of your options. Lots of us overpay for our first device before learning better. Glad you landed here and saved yourself that trouble!

Welcome, and best of luck!

If you want to direct drip, you should stay away from the KR808. The cartomizer makes it difficult because the atomizer and the cartridge are all one unit. That's not to say it can't be done, but it involves a little surgery...

I'd really recommend the 510 (there are many iterations and brands, but Joye is the original and probably the best manufactured) or one of it's spin-offs like the 510-T which has a tank, or EGo from the same manufacturer.

The 510 is just so well regarded that almost all of the mods (big batteries that don't look like cigarettes, in this case) are threaded to use the 510 atomizers and accessories. The cartridges for the 510 are pretty much crap, but the atomizers (attys) are great, and you can get cartomizers (both atty and cartridge built together) that will fit the 510 also...

Their flavors are terrible....

Don't take this the wrong way, as I'm certainly not endorsing their overpriced equipment, but I didn't have any issues with shipping. Ordered on a Sunday, arrived on Wednesday. Blew out the passthrough, they advance-replaced, called on Tuesday, arrived on Friday.

The only real complaint I have dealing with them is their price. Also, they claim a lifetime guarantee, but if you read the fine print, it's a 90 day warranty that restarts every time you order cartos from them, and since their flavors are terrible and overpriced, that just ain't gonna happen.

If you plan to mostly direct drip then you'll want something 510 based. I do recommend the eGo (or Riva at liberty flights for $29.99 when you select the 20% discount) because you'll be able to drip straight out of the box AND you can choose to use the low resistance atomizers (LR atty) that people go on and on about -- you shouldn't use those on the smaller units like a standard 510 or 808 (like a V2).

You can also try out the 306 atomizers on your 510 threaded device (like an eGo or Riva) so there really are plenty of options for you there. IF you try the direct dripping method and decide it's not your cup of tea you will still be able to choose from dozens of other 510 compatible attachments including the traditional atomizer/cartridge or cartomizers.

Listen to Fray get a 510 kit UNLESS you feel the need for a cigarette shaped e-cig. If you have to go with a e-cig shaped e-cig (KR808) then I would highly recommend smokeless image or Bloogplanet IMO one of the best KR808 products out there.

Note as Fray already said you CANNOT drip with a Kr808 (Cig shaped) unit.

If you go with a 510 unit such as the Ego, Echo, and all the others you can just buy a 510 Atomizer and drip as well as get cartomizer for such things as driving.

ok great so can you tell me is this a 3 piece unit or 2. Which is better I read 3 for dripping rite?

The eGo (or Riva) comes with three parts; battery+atomizer+cartridges. To drip you only need the battery and atomizer (and perhaps an emptied out cartridge for a mouth piece) though most will also purchase a drip tip to make dripping easier.

Yep, 510 is the standard, and one of the better ones for dripping. There are a lot of manual and auto batts to choose from. Carts, cartos, and tanks are all available, so you don't have to choose.

The best model for dripping (actually, dipping into a small container of juice works better) is the 401, but you can't drip on the go. You will have to use carts, cartos, or tanks at some point.

wats the difference from the Riva , eGo, or 510 Im lost sorry

Riva and eGo are variations of the same device but made by different manufacturers. Neither is better than the other, but the Riva is less expensive. The 510 is the smaller version of same, with a smaller battery (read; lasts only a couple hours between charges and is ill equipped to keep up with the draw from LR atomizers).

Dont get to hung up it is very confusing at first it took me also a while to understand everything but you will get the drill. Riva, Ego, Echo they are all 510 units and the 510 stands for the connection for the atomizer, carto.

here this is a 510 unit for example
