Said like a true cowboy in spirit if not fact, Thanks Dan, with where we are going now I needed reminded of what’s t is behind MLK and this holiday.
Been down in Ecuador, anyone ever had popcorn with their soup? Try it its GOOD, got to work fast it gets “soup logged” faster than crackers, they would put the popcorn in the spoon and dip some soup and eat.

I’d never seen it before zippersnapper, it’s a big deal in Ecuador but they don’t do it Bolivia. They use regular butterfly popcorn, like we have, but also use a CANCHA popcorn that doesn’t expand out of the hull as much when popped, it doesn’t get “soup logged” as fast as butterfly popcorn and has more crunch.
Anyone know where to get CANCHA corn (or anything different kind of corn to pop) in Houston?

Have you tried a "Fiesta" grocery store?

You used to be able to get it at a resteraunt in Houston, Sambe's or something like that, but I'm pretty sure they are closed. I knowe you can order online though.

http://www.latinmerchant.com/productdetail.asp?ProductID=G0012

Its peruvian though so not as popular or readily available as other maize/corn type products.
