I'm having muted taste

How are yall doing,
I just wanted to ask the veterans about my situation and hope to see if there's anything i can do. I have an orion v2.1 and I'm using ribbon wire (Kanthal D Ribbon resistance heating flat wire 0.5*0.1mm / .020*.004") with a 3/4 wrap. Also with a 400 mesh SS. As excited as i was when i received my 100ml gorilla juice from AveJuice. My mod has been muting the flavor. I'm not sure if its my wick as i tried the whole torch prep or even priming it. Or do you think it's my coiling with the ribbon wire? I'm just not sure, and was hoping someone knows my situation and could help me out!

My Orion V2.1 is my main vape and is the flavor king, so... Since you didn't mention a burnt/metallic taste we can probably rule out a short. There are a few things I wold suggest w/o knowing more or seeing your setup:

- I think gorilla juice is high VG? Not sure, but if so, a solid wick is better w/ high VG juice. 500 is best, but a solid 400 will do.

- I haven't tried ribbon kanthal yet as my coils last a long time. I understand it's forgiving to shorts and easy to use, but that it can make some juice taste 'blah' (so that could be your issue).

- Maybe try adding more wraps? A 3/4 wrap is good w/ my 32g kanthal, but maybe not w/ the ribbon. You definitely want more wraps if using a solid wick as I suggested above.

- Finally, if you have regular kanthal, try wrapping a coil using that to see if it's the ribbon muting your flavor. In fact, I may try this first.
