I just bought a chi you clone mod. With a 18650 sony (LEGIT) battery. It's my first mech mod. I put the battery end (negative side down) and fire it. It burns hotter than hell and apparently shorts. I charge it for five hours, does the same thing. Now it won't fire at all.

... AM I DOING WRONG?!? If it's not the battery what is it? I've adjusted every .......n pin on the mod, and Tried a million different tanks.

HELP

well, is the mod getting HOT FAST?

If so, Shorting - STOP - FIND OUT WHY

Lots of chi clones available and not all the same in build/switch design.

Quick test - remove Atty
install Battery and switch - Does mod start heating up? if so - Remove Battery ASAP!!!!!
If not, press switch and note if mod starts to get warm - IT SHOULD NOT - nothing to complete the circuit.
If the mod starts getting hot with switch pressed - Mod Top has a short

If neither or these occur without an atomizer, you may be over tightening and shorting the atomizers. Center to 510.

Does your battery rest on a plastic spacer at the switch? Some Chi have none and a battery can dead ground if the Negative metal touched the switches top ring.

Standard 2.0 kangertech aero coil

It may be something as simple as a short in the coil of the aerotank. You may need to sacrifice a perfectly good coil, but you should try replacing the coil and try firing the new coil to see if it works.

My guess though is a short in the insulator (510 connector) or the fire button. If your mod has a hot spring (battery compartment), inspect it to see if it has collapsed or melted.

You really need to get a digital multimeter to be able to diagnose and troubleshoot issues like this in a mechanical mod.

First off - someone define a short to me? What is it??? How does it occur??

Remove the battery
Place the mod in a Drawer and leave it

Spend a LOT of time researching and learning. You are at a place in your experience where things can go very bad very fast.

Now - A short is any condition that allows full battery power to go directly from the Battery positive to the Battery negative.(Bypassing the coil)
This is basically 0.00ohms, the same as placing a thick wire from the + to the - of the battery. NOT GOOD!

Post a picture of your Switch(inner) and your Battery -
