Hello all,

I was sent over here from newbie land because I was talking about mod stuff, hope you don't mind the company...

Um yeah, I guess you could call me an inventer, many just call me "special" or "crazy", me I just think of myself as a jack of all trades/ renaissance sort of man. I've been inventing & building stuff for as long as I can remember... I'm currently working on a flying car & no I'm not crazy or at least I don't think I am... Its just society has been waiting all too long for the flying car we have all been promised by the jetsons'... I can't get into too many details right now but at least for the moment I have bigger fish to fry...

I am looking for someone to help me by building a specific mod for me. The basic gist of the build is a VV/VW with USB pass through telescoping (so it can take any size battery) Provari. Basically I want...

-All the reliability & durability of the Provari
-In a telescoping all (at least majority) metal (from most to least, titanium, bronze, aircraft aluminum, stainless steel, etc) housing,
-A built in (no separate add on stuff) USB pass through that can charge the batteries both while in use & when not in use,
-Interchangeable batteries,
-Large magnetic reed switches for controls,
-A physical hard on/off switch (magnetic reed)
-VV/VW function with at least 3V~6V in 0.1V increments & 3w~15w in 0.5w increments,
-Water-proof or at least water/vapour-tight & water resistant,
-Shock/vibration resistant,
-Covered with a good 2 part epoxy paint (like truck bedliner), -Skinned with a good carbon fiber & silicone skin,
-An external telescoping battery pack,
-Lanyard & sheaf combo like the Provari but that you don't have to open/remove the APV to use it, etc.

I am looking for 2 APVs, one for home & one for travel , possible depending on the cost I may get a second one of each got back up...

I am not going to be able to builds it myself so I need to find someone whom I can hire to build it for me. This project isn't an instantaneous thing but in the next few weeks I am going to be getting a fair chunk of change & I would like to invest in set of excellent quality mods that will outlast me...

You forgot to mention that you want this no larger than an eGo. :)

Actually we aren't for hire here so, not to pass the buck (literally) but it sounds like you might want to try knocking on a few doors over at vaporwall.

However, with that list of requested features this sounds like overkill and huge on a few details. Reed switches for all functions sounds like it would be a) big and b) hard to get the desired switch to activate without setting off a different switch, and c) water/dust proof which is the positive goal with choosing a reed.

Are the materials for protecting all layered on the metal housing or is there just one to be chosen. Plus the layering won't work with the telescoping feature and would ruin the waterproofing....

Finally, once this Juggernaut is built, you still have to deal with the weakness of the threaded connector and the atty which really can't be waterproofed either, and each time it gets dropped or run over by the excavator you have to pray that the atty is still OK.

With some compromise, you ought to be able to find someone to machine a telescope tube for the provari, or, there is a mod named Warbox, which while tough, is really just a plastic box mod.

I suppose you aren't so impressed with the flying car we do have, that is just a plane with folding wings that you can stylishly toodle down the road from the garage to the airstrip? :p

I think if you did find someone capable to build what you want, it would cost you many times what you think it might as a one off, or even 2 or 3. your looking for a one off custom designed engineered and built item, start tallying up the many hours of design and machine work and hand fitting and everything else that goes along with it and don't be too surprised when you get quoted over a grand for one, assuming you could find anyone at all to even consider building it for you in the first place, especially if you want it to look good too and not just a project box with stuff crammed in it

in my opinion I think you have 2 choices, either find and/or adapt/modify from existing available stuff, or go out and get your own mill and lathe and start learning how to build it yourself :)
