I'd be interested in how you like them.. from the description it might be the version with a "shelf" instead of a "cup" that holds the poly. I've written the company to ask. I prefer the cup. but I'm always looking for new sources, so thanks! maybe you could post here or PM me after you use them to let me know !

I'll be sure to post my impressions here. I wrote them, too. No response. So I rolled the dice...

As in they just didn't take a charge? Could they have been bad from the start? Was that with the "T" charger?

Being technically oriented, I'm trying to get my brain wrapped around what's going on with everyone's batteries and chargers. There isn't any real magic to charging Li-Ion batteries. It's just a different chemistry. But it's been stuck in my head since it was stated that the "T" charger can damage standard 510 batteries. In my experience, a properly designed charger can't and won't harm different sized batteries of the same chemistry.

I guess I'm running a battery life experiment. I have two batteries that came with my 510 kit, and two that came with my 510-T kit. I've been charging them with out respect to which charger they came with (either due to experience or ignorance). To take the experiment a step further, I've been using the "T" USB charger (dongle) with the AC adapter that came with my Droid X (capable of 850mA). The dongle's job is to watch the battery voltage while it pumps in as much current as is available (typically between 0.5 and 1C).

Something is going on that I don't understand, but suspect it's either poor charger design, poor battery controller design, or some combination of the two. Hopefully, there have been product improvements that have alleviated the problem. The RC people have been getting away with rampant carelessness for years. IIRC - It was one of them that first posted vids of a LiPo fire on YouTube. We really have them to thank for the battery technology we're using today.

Can someone point me to a high-resolution image of a battery controller board? If I can identify the devices on it, I can pull the datasheets.

this confuses me too, so I am glad you are experimenting with it. I was under the impression that the joye 510 and the joye 510-T were the same battery, I thought it was the atty and cart (tank) that were different. I'm using an ego-T battery with a regular atty.......

I believe all your impressions are correct. At least... that's what Joyetech's website leads me to believe... ;)

Have really enjoyed my 510-T kit. Recently "upgraded" to a 1100 Ego passthrough for the extended battery life but still use the 510 as well. I'm still using the original 2 "shorty" batteries that came with it and have added one extended battery to the setup but I can't say much at all negative about the 510-T....good setup imo.

I bought a 510-T starter kit and the only difference between the 510-T and the 510 is the atty and carts. The difference in the batteries of the starter kits are the size and mah. The 510 starter kits, from my vendor at least, the 510 has the standard 180mah whereas the 510-T comes withthe extra-long 280mah. The charger was the same so the 280s just take a little longer to charge up.

The 510-T starter kit came with soft plastic tanks that were an absolute pain with leaking. Once I ordered hard plastic cartridges, no problem at all. I've also purchased a few cartos for the T and they been great as well, stronger TH, but they won't last as long of course, and aren't as comfortable on the lips. . . drip tip recommended for comfort.

The number one thing I recommend for new users is to be sure you clean your batteries and chargers often. And of course your attys . . . keep them clean and always remember to prime a new one!

To date, I have four batteries with chargers so I always have a fresh one, 4 attys, 15 T carts that I fill and cap every other day or so, plus about the same in standard carts that I've put away for a rainy day . . . don't hold as much juice, and 5 cartos (one in the pack of 5 was a dud). This has me set up for no fuss vaping. I spend less time keeping this system up than I did keeping up with my analog needs.

I've found a thumb drive case to be the perfect on-the-go storage solution. I just clipped the threads on one side making the three pockets a large one to hold the charger cable and spare batteries, leaving three pockets on the other side for carts/attys, cartos, and a small bottle of juice.

I'm going to guess that was some time ago. Yes? All that's listed now on Joyetech's website for *all* 510's is a 220mAH battery.

Things in this industry change faster than I can keep up. The "T" tank was originally soft?!? Mine came with hard tanks. The only change I'll be making is to get some smokey black tanks and spare caps.

Cags, did you ever get a response? I haven't heard boo from them so I cancelled.

I did hear from them, but they only answered part of my question :(

here are some other vendors. I'm not sure of their shipping though...

Actually no . . . just bought it a month ago. There are many vendors for 510s and many accessories.
Best of luck!

I started out with the 510-t and loved it, but I did have the problem of leakage after refilling a couple of times. There are two kinds of stoppers for the 510-t tanks and, if you can find them, the silicone/rubber ones are far superior to the hard ones and put a stop to almost all the leakage if you're careful and don't spin the tank in the atty. I know that ecigwizard sell the silicone stopper tanks in the UK but, sadly, they're the only place I've ever seen them short of the odd Chinese wholesale site where you have to order large amounts. There must be other vendors who do them too tho, and buying the stoppers on their own is worth it because they'll fit any 'flat' ended (atty end) tank.

For further info I moved away from the 510/t batteries to Ego ones quite fast (due to battery capacity and lifetime) and was still using my 510-t atties on the Ego battery and that worked well, particularly for long journeys. After several months I ran into cashflow problems and the cost of the 510-t became prohibitive, so I made the move to cartos.

Hello, just would like to add my vote for the 510T as well-
Started vaping almost a year ago now, from being a heavy smoker for decades plunged in to the confusing pool of what to buy as we all do.
Started with an Ego, which is a good workhorse but didnt make me happy nor do I enjoy using it really, went to an Ego T
(microsurgery on the atomisers necessary after a week or two in my case, no luck with them) so they ended in the bin. Always loved using the 510, bought some of the bigger batts, ventured into buying some T attys and a few of the small plastic cartridges and after figuring out how to use them discovered the this is what I've been looking for thing.!
I just charge all my 510 batteries in the normal 510 charger, and use the 510t atomisers on all the 510 batteries large and small, havn't found any problem to date at all.
I have ordered some larger cartridge/tanks as the standard small ones really dont hold enough juice (my only gripe)-I get around this by filling half a dozen carts at one go in the meantime until the big ones arrive, and doesnt bother me taking a few spare batteries for out and about. The ego now for me is just for around the House,
I've not found any cartos that I like either, so after the big round trip with vaping hardware I'm settled, thankfully!
(PS the big Cartridges in the link look great!-must investigate)
