Hello all!
I've been lurking on here for about 2 weeks now as ECF is a superb reference (of encyclopedic volume!) for many just like me- moving from smoking to vaping.

Not only do I want to say hi to everyone and introduce myself but ask your opinions about some T3 troubles I'm having.

My brother showed me his ecig and recommended the concept to me (he had a greensmoke). After finding ECF obviously my choices were seriously extended. My partner and I are now newbie ecig users and we have 2 Ego Cs. These works great, I understand how they work etc., but naturally I am now in the phase of buying lots more equipment :D

I was hoping to remove the need for frequent refilling so I did some research and ordered some 5ml juice samples and some Kanger T2s and T3s. The reason for buying them both was that I preferred the slightly more slender dimensions of the T2, yet wanted to potentially experience the improvements in the T3. I filled both of them up and have got massively different effects- this is where I need your help.

The T2 - loads of vapour, rich gorgeous juice taste with no gurgling, juice in the mouth etc. Perfect so far.
The T3 - leaking everywhere, airy as a straw, no taste, little vape and to be honest really bad.

The T3 threads also dont fit perfectly onto the Ego battery; small amount of play but I still get a connection. If I tighten the T3 onto the battery firmly (but not really tight), the button on the battery glows blue (as if I had pressed it), fails to produce vapour and looks like some sort of bad connection has been made.

So I need some help - whilst I can tighten the T3 up so as not to get the bad connection, I still get a really bad experience with it. What do I need to do to correct it? I'm so new I was expecting to put juice in it and bath in glorious vapour, but that hasn't happened. I'm fairly handy and practical so I am hoping I can maybe tweak the T3 to work.

Any advice would really help me.

I've been doing the following with my Kanger T3s. Buy 100% cotton yarn from walmart, $2. Remove all wicking from T3. Thread 2 strings from yarn through existing coil using sewing needle. Lay full strand of yarn on top of coil/wick (4 strands). Trim. Attach and let soak for about 30 minutes on tank. Unscrew tank about 1/2 turn, and you should be good to go.

I have to say i owned two t3s and they are both peices of crap. After about 2 weeks of taking advice of new wicks and turning the rubber upside down all the way as to replace the whole assembly I through them both out. I would look into something like a vivi nova or simular. Good luck and welcome to ecf

That sucks, I think I need to start a thread where people send me all the T3s that they don't want.

In my experience, clearomizers are all hit and miss. I tried (read: wasted money) on dozens of them and never found a consistently acceptable product from any of them. Smoktech, Kanger, Vision, CE2, CE4, CE4+, CE5, CE6, bottom coil, top coil, long wick, short wick, "New improved wick", replaceable head, yes I have tried them all time and time again. One may perform well for week and the next of the same thing will leak and flood from the first fill. I have managed to get up to a week of use out of the good ones but I gave up on them months ago, just ended up costing too much in bad ones.

I have heard things have improved over the last 6 months but from what I can tell, not by much.

I have been having good luck with Vivi Novas (mini and full size), but I haven't had a great experience with my Kanger T3. At first I was getting much better flavor compared to the Vivi Nova Mini and about the same vapor production, but after about a day things changed for the worse. If I let it sit for a little while between hits things seem to be ok, but if I want to chain-vape the overall experience suffers considerably (dry, burnt hits and poor vapor production). I tried changing heads to see if that was the problem but it didn't help at all.

I am pretty satisfied with my Vivi Novas but they are far from perfect, which is why I am waiting anxiously for the ZAP to be back in stock. What I really want, though, is something like the Vivi Nova that comes with replaceable heads with ss mesh wicks pre-installed - kind of a compromise between RBAs and inexpensive tank atomizers. I am kind of surprised no one has done that already.

I also just started vaping and I began with a Kanger T3 connected to an eGo-T.

I like the T3, but it does feel like I'm sucking on an empty straw, and I'm wondering if I'm getting all of my flavor from my juice. I started with an 80/20 and switched to 50/50 because there was so little vapor and taste. This solved both somewhat, but I hate that I'm not getting any resistance when I draw the vapor in, even when I cover all of the holes.

I do love the bottom coil, though.

I'm sorry for your problems with the K3. But I just want to welcome you and your other to ECF.. I've only used one or two of the K3's and really like em a lot. I know is earliey in your vaping but I still use and recomend the vivi nova. I've got 10 of them both mini and standard. (2.0ml/3.5ml). Like and use them often. I'm not a high wattage vapor so I can't say anything about much over 8 watts. I don't have really anything that I vape over 4 volts, unless it's a high resistance head or carto. Hang in there. It's a learning curve that may save your life. And welcome again.

The main design "issue" with the T3 is that entire (tiny) wick and the hole it goes through to the atomizer coil is constantly submerged. There is a pretty narrow window of correct operation which can be missed with slight manufacturing or assembly variation. It has been a while since I have used the stock wick, but I (along with others) have found that they work better when you remove one of the single strands of "flavor wick" that lay on top of the coil.

I actually rewick mine with cotton yarn, and I've found that for all three heads I own I need to have 6 of the yarn strands going through the wick holes. For a stock coil, that is 2 strands through the coil and 4 laying on top. With a bigger rebuilt coil, that is 4 through the coil and 2 laying on top. They both work exactly the same, and I haven't had a consistent wicking issue in quite a while. This arrangement seems to work well for the few people discussing rewicking the T3.

That said, I would only recommend the T3 to someone who doesn't mind a little tinkering. There are several top-coil designs out there that work just fine and don't have the frequent wicking problems... but you do have to swirl them to avoid dry hits.

I have heard that there are some "bad" T3s out there.

there are companies out there making the T3 besides Kanger,,vision is one of them

That sucks, I think I need to start a thread where people send me all the T3s that they don't want.

i want some them too !!

i've been getting mine from Kanger and i have not experienced any of the problems everybody is complaining about and i've been using them since november

I had a similar problem with my new t3 if you want to try to make it useable look in the clearomizer subforum I have made a post with video of how I fixed mine and was able to successfully use it while there are many different issues with these this may be your problem. One user used a center punch to achieve same results. Check it out see what you think.

I also posted a video of rewicking them if you need to try that. You may need and extra overwick too, just cut a little piece off one of your t2 wicks

Kanger T3 rebuild tutorial - YouTube

I followed along, and rather than rebuild my new one, just removed ONE of the extra wicks. Now it works just fine
Kanger has two models of the t3
the older and better one has two holes in the textured bottom for air - the newer and need-to-be-fixed ones have 3 holes.
Several people have contacted the company and complained about the newer ones.

I recently got my wife and I Kanger T3s and they're both working awesome! One thing I noticed is if I take longer slower drags I get much more tasty and satisfying vape. Another thing to think about is getting a VV battery and turning the volts up to and over 4.0.

I love me a Kanger T3
I really don't understand some of the posts here
As far as I can tell this stuff is not rocket science
I think people are making this stuff much more complicated than it is
