hi my name is chris, im from washington ... Home of coffee and airplanes... I was mad at my 17 year old son who decided it was cool to smoke cigs with his buddies... I really got tired of smelling him stink, and soon he became addicted, the problem with that was he is full type 1 diabetic... I remember seeing and ecig place at our local mall, and started looking at a way to get him to switch... I ordered an ecig online and it came in the mail and I statred using it just for fun as i dont smoke .... I soon liked doing it in the bars , as i did like a cig with a good beer buzz... I later gave the ecig to my son and he used it for 2 weeks then it broke..... Dang !! So i am an avid DIY guy and thought Hey if i can make scuba dive lights.... I can make a ecig... I went to work and watched some DIY vids on youtube, and built 4 mods for me and my son , and they Kick major ....... I vape now on a 5 volt , and he vapes on a 3.7 volt mod.. I really like vapeing on 5 volts , I used 2 3.7 volt rcr123a Ultrafire batts with a raioshack voltage reg.... Any way Im new here thought Id say hello and I have to post here 5x times since Im new
By the way Im looking for the bomb flavor for Bannana, who sells the best E juice for that flavor? Im also on the Hunt for a great coffee flavor ... thanks

Watch out for stacking protected li ion batteries in series, theres a lot more risk of catastrophic failure, from what I have read... you may want to pick up some cells with "safer" chemistry for the 5v mod... like aw imr high drains... google 'em.

Hi Chris and welcome to the forum! Woo Hoo another modder! That's a nice looking one.
There was a debate sometime back about whether "you" would get an ecig for your kid if you knew he/she were smoking and you wanted them to quit. Having decided against the idea, I've since changed my mind. It's awesome that you are trying to help your son and made yourselves mods to boot!!
Don't know where to get banana flavor - I'm sure there will be someone along that will point you in the right direction.

ya ive been useing my mod now for 2 months and i know the dangers of Li ion and Lipo batts blowing up... Protected cells means your good to go.. I think my mod is called "the Trailer Park " LOL , it also the flashlight cheap mod.. there super easy to make and vape really nice on a 510 atty

my dive lights use 8ea 3.7 18650 in series with no issues ..they Pull a full 6 amps to run .. but yes you do have to use protected cells for any kind of series use

After connecting my pass through to a 5v battery charger,I gotta make a 5v battery mod... cant go back to 3.7

First of all suhweet looking mod you have there! Good job! Secondly, I have found a juice that I go to more than any so far, it's Vaperite's banana cream. (my boyfriend loves this one too) I also have FSUSA's banana, but haven't tried it yet. I've heard banana nut bread is pretty good too. I will try them all eventually. I have Vaperites banana cream in 3 strengths, that's how much we like it!! Hope you do too should you decide to try it. Welcome to ECF!

I'll defer to your knowledge then... sounds like you have done the research, and being a diver, you understand the risk/benefit analysis. Personally, triggering a 1C or bigger draw that close to my face sometimes makes me flinch a bit, but you are probably right, they are likely safe being protected, and close to a matched pair.

Now that thing is sweet, so you essentially took one of those $3-5 led flashlights and converted it to an ecig? I would love to hear how you did that as it just raised my eyebrows and made me think "Why the hell didn't I think of that" lol

I have a fuse in my mod for added safety, just a simple spring in which the current passes through. I vape @ 7.4v

this is the negative contact post and a mechanical switch activates it by contacting the lower portion.
