I'm new in rta

Hi, so I bought an zeus x rta I really liked I built it out the coils and the cotton than includes the box then I started to notice it taste like burnt so I did my research but I could not get any answers, the coils are brand new also the cotton I did the built on Thursday (the day after Monday) and I change the cotton today because I thought it would be for the cotton but now i taste the same burnt flavor ( I need to say for about 3 hours it taste so good it tasted just how it supposed to taste even better but now again taste like burnt) sorry for the bad English, I hope you can help me to continue in this amazing world of vaping

What is the resistance of the coil build? What is the wattage you are using? Sounds like you might be using too much wattage. That will make a burnt taste in short order. More info would be helpful. A good build and wick job on an rta is tricky to get right, I does take practice.

The resistance is 0.4 ohm, nichrome, fused Clapton, I'm using two coils so the total ohm is 19 I'm vaping at 70 wattage, I hope this is enough information

If you mean the resistance your mod shows is .4 then each coil is .8 0hms, also might be me since i haven't built in a while but pretty sure 70 watts is heavy on those poor coils, if i were you i'd go lower that is most likely why it tastes burnt.

I agree and figured that the wattage was a bit much. Drop it back to the 50-fish range for .19ohms. Clean out the tank good, dry burn the coils and re wick. Then start vaping at around 45watts and slowly bring it 50 or so,

I confirmed that the coils that come with the Zeus X are indeed 2 x Ni80 Fused Clapton Coils ( 0.4 Ω ), so .19 sounds about right for dual coil setup. Robo, if you follow the above suggestions you should get a better result. Let us know how it goes.

The trick is to use ENOUGH cotton. Too much it wont wick very well, too little and you have yourself a juice funnel. It's a fine line with most rta's to get it just right. But again, it comes with practice.

Hi guys a quick update, I change the coils and the cotton again, I believe the problem was the coils, the coils was so black. So I did everything you guys said and now it taste great. Thank you very much guys
