Hi all,

I've been vaping for almost 2 months and i'm currently using a kr808 style setup.

Although I am very happy with my current setup up I am getting very tired of voltage drop. I have gotten to the point where I am only happy with my batteries for about a half hour to 45 minutes until I know that it's time to swap for a new one because of the drastic difference in enjoyment because of the drop in voltage.

I was reading this subforum and thinking about getting a Provari. I stumbled upon this picture and I was blown away. I have never seen anything like it in my short time vaping and have no idea what I'm looking at. That clear container that is holding the juice I mean. I looked on Provapes website and did not see that as an accessory.

I can assume that that container is some sort of "after market" attachment? Can anyone tell me where I can look to buy it and how it works? Also is it hard to maintain and fill? The pros and cons vs carts? etc etc.

I'm most probably going to be purchasing a Provari in the next week but I am doing my best to hold off so I can purchase everything I need/want in one shot instead of doing it piecemeal.

Thank You,
Slappy

That's a tank mod. It uses a standard cartomizer with holes or slots cut in it to let the juice flow in from the tank. Most of the ones that size are marketed as holding about 5ml. They're made with polycarbonate, and the tubing breaks down if you use a juice with incompatible flavorings. I have four of them laying around the house, but I don't use them anymore because most of my favorite flavors are incompatible. I'm not changing juice flavor for an accessory.

I'm waiting for the iAtty to come back in stock so I can try one of those. Instead of the polycarbonate tank it uses a stainless steel tank, and it doesn't use a cartomizer. You make your own coil and wick and can tweak it as necessary to work with your setup.

Looks Like a Stainless Steel liquinator, they are quite popular with their own 200+ page thread in the cartomizer section. As scottinsocal stated, some flavorings in nicjuice are incompatible with the clear tubing where the liquid is held. JohanNM also has a tank mod with SS tube and pyrex glass as an option, so the concern for the tube breaking from juice is no longer viable.

I do have a Provari and it's all i could ever want in an e-cig. Trouble shoots for you, reads atomizer/cartomizer resistance, checks battery, and NEVER fades away at any point in the batteries operating voltage. Variable voltage is where vaping gets flat out pleasurable. I am happy with the money i spent on it and would highly recommend anyone to get one.

If your new to vaping you could stay with what you have and get some good 808 batterys for a good vendor you must have bad batterys as I use only 808 stuff and battery life is much better than what you state. Check out vaporssmiths, smokelessimage, just to name a few ans get you some great batterys. and I think you will be happy. Until you get the hang of things I would suggest you stay with cartomizers for awhile to learn things.

Gentleman, lol and lol again...... For the fun I have looked to the Vapor kings and Smokelessimage ones, saved myself then the trouble to look to the third mentioned. Vapor kings sells as KR 808 batts: 280 mAh ones and Smoking Image: 220-320 mAh ones, both the known sigaretstyle of the KR 808-serie. Gentlemen, you never get good lifetime out of 220-320 mAh batteries, even if they have the best quality in the whole world. Quality is not really relevant here. Look at the mAh-rating of the batts you can use in Provari: 1100 mAh (AW IMR-type) without extension cap, 1600 mAh (AW IMR-type) with extension cap and above 2000 mAh with the batts Provari is coming out now. With these batts you can vape 1-2 days before they need a recharge. Also, they are certainly very high quality; the best in quality in the world. These are the batts you have to sell seperately for use in a Provari, with a charger for these big batts. The ProVari itself automatic compensates for drops in voltage when the batts perform less if they get empty. So, one constant vape, no more the frustration of bad vapes when voltage drops and….. you can change the voltage if you want. Slappy, do yourself a favour and be wise with choosing to whom you will listen and vape happily long after.

I have to chime in here, because I was using a standard 510 atomizer and a 300mAh battery. I've heard that 510's eat up battery life rather quickly, and the battery I had just wasn't doing the job. It would vape for a good 30 minutes or so, but not a single one of the drags was satisfying to me. I was chasing the vapor production, throat hit, flavor, and nic satisfaction that I would never get with such a small and inconsistent battery.

I'm sure there are plenty of other options for batteries if you want to stay with what you have, plenty of other mods if you choose to go that route...but I am loving this Provari.

I have not ran it out of batteries yet (and I have tried, for nearly a full day) with the 18650 batteries and extended cap but I am about to order some of the 2000 or 2500's from Provape (I thought they were 2500 at least) just to go overkill. The drags are consistent, any drop in voltage is not noticeable, and the flavor/vapor production is immense. I had to go through all of my juices to "re-try" them because they tasted phenomenally better with this great mod, and atomizers (ikv io6, and Provape HV 510's).

If you have the money to spend, and you enjoy vaping, the Provari will take it to the next level (or several levels above that, depending on how satisfied you are with your current setup).

I love the VV functions, and being able to check atomizer resistances without a multimeter, it is much more satisfying to hold (it has some heft, but is not what I would consider "huge" or "bulky"), and with the finish choices (albeit narrow) it is hard to get a Provari without looking snazzy.

The first night I got my Provari was the first time I had set down my PV because I was totally satisfied (and I was using 18mg on that first-day testing spree).

I have been dripping with my Provari, but the battery life and power make me want to get a good tank mod for when I want to settle down and vape one flavor for awhile.

TL: DR---Terrific mod, after upgrading from a cig-style manual battery and atomizer I couldn't believe that I had waited this long to order one. Completely different (and utterly pleasant) vaping experience than I had imagined possible. All the things that irked me about vaping (weak drags/voltage, charging batteries, and weak flavor) immediately disappeared after about an hour of acquainting myself with my new Provari. *Round of applause for Provape*

The drags are consistent, any drop in voltage is not noticeable,

Just to clarify for the OP: there wouldn't be a drop in voltage, because the power is regulated. If you set your ProVari to 4.5 volts, it'll be 4.5 volts until the protection circuit kicks in and shuts it off, no matter what the battery voltage is. Your first puff is identical to your last puff, unless you change the setting yourself.

I have a liquinator on top of my provari, PERFECTION! You will not regret making the purchase, I just chain vaped about 1.5ml without a dry spot or loss of flavor. I wanted to test out the combo and had one hell of a buzz from it.

Most probably what I'm going to purchase. I'm soooo looking forward to it.

I had mine in my hand less than 5 days after ordering. I doubt it will be a 2 weeks wait. Be prepared for some funny looks and lots of questions. When you blow out bigger clouds than the cigarette smokers it draws a little attention. Even more so when the PV, tank and T-tip is SS.

I work just woke up and got an email from Provape that my order shipped. Hooray!!!!

I'm the only person at work that vapes and it is non stop questions about my current set up which is a Kr808. I am laughing to myself right now about the reaction i'm going to get when I pull out the Provari with tank attached. hahahaha

Sweet! I'm glad you don't have to wait too long. I am absolutely loving my liquinator and ProVari setup, and i'm sure you will too. I love the ability to dial in whatever i have on the ProVari, no need for a special brand/type of carto/atomizer. Make sure to lower the voltage before you attach a LR carto/atty, it fires every time you push the button before the menu shows up. I have 2.0 Ohm cartos and 5.0 Ohm cartos that i switch between sometimes when i want variety. One time i forgot to lower the voltage and put 6V on a low resistance carto, it was cracking and popping so loud i thought for sure i blew it. One more thing, there is no such thing as stealth vaping at high voltage. My cartos sound like i lit a fuse to a firecracker, I can hear it if it fires in my pocket. I really love everything about this PV setup.
