I'm feeling overwhelmed a bit. I started out with a ego kit and came with 2 batteries. 2 equinox atomizers . Those gave me liquid in my mouth so I went back to shop and got a Vision spinner and some Kanger evod attys . These were a lot better but I was always having to refill so I went and bought a Kanger protank. Its not the same. I feel like I'm not getting near as much vapor and I don't really taste the flavors anymore just a metal taste. Ughh.

try teh second head tthat comes with the protank. my first coil was bad, second one taste great and produces lots of vapor. I also found I have to run mine at 4.2 volts before it really shines. I have a e vod coming and will see how that stacks up.
Sorry to hear your having so much trouble. I bet if you added all spent you could have gotten a hi-end mod. Don't get discouraged. Many of us have traveled that route.
I have yet to purchase my first kit and I'd like to know more about getting a high end mod. I want to go for it right away rather than buying something 5 times before I'm happy.
Can you list a couple high end mods that don't leak, don't give you a bad taste in your mouth, and produce a lot of vapor? It would be so appreciated.
Take the head from the evod and put in in the protank and see what you think. Many people do this and have found the results to be more desirable. I have both and now when I rebuild my heads I only use the post from my evods in both the evod and the protank.
The metal taste could come from you dont like the tip of the protank but the draw will change switching the heads. Cant hurt to try.

Change your ProTank heads with EVOD heads. It will slow down the vape and give you more taste.

I find the Protank less good than the evods for vapour. If/when I use it on a VV device, I end up turning the power up to higher levels.
Equinox are presumably CE4/Stardust type....they should have made good enough vapour, but they can be a bit leaky unless you keep them nice and tight/straight.
sawtooth is right about the 4.2 volts or more....no trouble from there upwards.
I am using an eVod today on about 3.8 volts....just as good as a Protank and cheaper, and better looking on a standard non-mod battery.
Ok yall. I swear I'm not a idiot but I changed the coil and its soooooo much better. I can taste the juice and the vapor is great. I don't know why I didnt think of changing the coil. I'm new. I just started this 3 weeks ago. Thankyou all for help.
I've been thrilled with my inexpensive smoktek VV and evod. Plenty of vapor and great taste. I normally don't even need to go above 4v unless I use 6ml juice.
I'm going to order 10 evods from fasttech for $24 so I can have a nice rotation without worrying about cleaning old juice.

The protank is a good tank it can be an airy draw, but the EVOD coil fits the protank and tightens the draw and produces more flavour and vapour especially if you buy a 1.8omh.....
If you don't have one yet... get an ego twist. It'll be in your vaping arsenal forever and works with anything. I find that certain juices need a little more heat to bring out the flavor.
I love the EVOD, but you need to be aware that thicker viscosity can cause wicking issues. The fix for this to to pull up the rubber gasket and allow it to be pushed down by screwing in the tank. Only tighten it till it's snug. This will put the least amount of pressure on the wick. Try and vape that for a bit tightening down more and more if needed.
Thin (mostly PG) juices ... i keep the tank on pretty tight
Thicker (more VG) juices ... i keep it just snug enough to seal off the air tube

) and its more cost effective than buying replacement headsglad to here its working. my first coil was terrible and I also really hated it. after changing it and running a cheap juice through it it performs amazing, im favoring it over my cartomizer tank right now. liked it so much I ordered a evod for my 3.7 v 650 mah battery

When you get into buying kanthal, stainless steel mesh, silica wick... you've DEFINITELY crossed over to being a full time vaper.
Check out the RSST. It's a really easy genesis platform to get started with. Leaks a bit through the pin, but you prob won't be carrying around a full size gene atty in your pocket while out and about. *hmmm... now that i think about it.. i've been taking my did mini clone and twist with me to work every day this week*
I started by wrapping my own evod heads and then moved to the genesis atomizer and got it to work on my first shot. FUN!
When you get the evod/protank heads down good, you could get the resistance perfect for your normal 3.7 ego batteries and still use it on your mod.
