Just wana make a note here... they CANNOT ban the sale and import of batteries from china. They cannot ban the sale of atomizers cause they are little metal electronic components. They cannot ban the sale of battery chargers. They cannot ban the sale of VG or PG.

So... what can they ban? The sale of starter kits? Big freakin whoop. We can buy the stuff seperately and make our own. Why is everyone so worried? That being said.. I ordered 18 kits from Central trade that are in the US right now soI could "stockpile" also... but I am not really too worried :)

I hear you on all that.... But HOW do you extract the nicotine in order to make the liquid? I am pretty confident that the device itself can't be banned from being purchased because you can call a device whatever you want to call it to get around the ban. My concern is this nigtmarish picture I have in my head of me in the kitchen with all kinds of chemicals trying to make e-juice..... it just can't be a good idea. :D A device without juice is useless.

I bought a bunch of high nic (24 and 36MG) liquids that I can dilute. I am using 11MG but will drop down to 6MG next week. My plan is to just go down to zero then I won't care :) But... with the amount of juice I have now... I could go a year or so by cutting it with the VG (I am allergic to PG).

I am about to drop around $500 - $1000 USD on spare parts for a DSE901 and Kissbox Classic. My goal is to be fully stocked for at least the next 2 years.

<snip>

Let me just clarify - I have never smoked an E-Cig before, <snip>

Maybe you should try e-smoking before stockpiling on supplies? Just a thought...

Oh nice.... you're stocked and plan to quit.... wish I could say the same.

Make NO mistake.. I don't EVER plan to quit vaping (unless my lungs fail me somehow). I only plan to quit nicotine and vape VG because my cholesterol is over 340 and my heart is probably going to give out on me at some point if I don't.

Spikey--just to let you and others know it was much easier to vape and get off the nicotine for me--I have not used nicotine for 6 months now. At first I vaped like hell, but after about 2 weeks using no-nic, the no-nic gave the same satisfaction as the nicotine. Graduate yourself down to zero over the course of a couple of months by swithing between Nicotine and no-nicotine over the course of 2 months and you should not have to much of an issue. I do not plan to give up vaping and have been using the VG as well. --------Sun

Yet another testament to the fact that the actual action of smoking is as addicting, if not more, than the nicotine! I myself am getting ready to make the transition and start working my way down to no nicotine. I will try your method. It seems right up my alley. :)

I don't want to fan the flames of panic, but I have to respectfully disagree with this. Bottom line is that the government can pretty much do whatever it wants to do. All they have to do is ban the sale of atomizers since its only legitimate use is with a personal vaporizer (a drug delivery system, in the government's eyes), and we'll find ourselves in a difficult position.

Of course, we could challenge any such action, but by the time a lawsuit wends its way through the legal system, it would be a hollow victory.

And, yes, manufacturers can no doubt get component pieces (and probably even e-liquids containing nicotine) into the US with a wide variety of interesting descriptions, but it will be a hassle. And unless vaping continues to grow by attracting more new followers, manufacturers may find it not terribly profitable to continue to produce these products, especially when it becomes more difficult to export.

Now, this doesn't mean that it's time to panic, but I do not think that we can necessarily count on the fact that our relatively easy access to equipment and supplies will continue unimpeded.

But I could be wrong, and, as I've said before, if I am wrong, it won't be the first time (and it won't be the last time, either). And for the record, I seriously hope I'm wrong.

I am not going to stockpile like the world is ending, but I am planning on having a year's worth of supplies on hand.

justjulie,

come on now....i mean yes, the gov. can do what they want. BUT, let take a look at some of the "smoking materials" they have allowed deemed "legal" in the last 30 years.

rolling papers (of course), bongs and waterpipes, and most importantly PYREX glass "insense burners". Do you know what those are really used for? They are used for vaping crystal ...., yet you can get them at just about any smoke shop/convenient store these days...

i mean, i can go on and on w/ examples like that Slavania root or whatever kids are smoking now...i know they have regulated it but its still availible everywhere and that ****s mind altering.

I think we are over reacting for sure, but hey..better safe than sorry right?

I recommend for bulk orders RuyanDirect.com its the cheapest I found and its fast shippining..you can get alot more then that for 1000$ but I think that would last you alot more then only a few years. If your a heavy smoker I recommend you get the penstyle. This site is in china but like I said the shipping is pretty much the same speed as USA supplier in the end, I place orders from multiple places on the same day usually and my china packages only arrive like a day later. I have just received an order from the there 2 days ago so its perfectly safe.

Like others have said..you should really try it first because some of the ECIG devices are definitly not for everyone...You will read about people RAVING about 901 and 901B like they are the best thing since sliced bread but for me this is my LEAST favorite ECIG of them all and I am not alone on this either...for many of us 901's just dont cut it and vice versa.

I hear what you're saying, but the difference here is that two powerful lobbies, tobacco and pharma, may weigh in on the e-cig controversy.

Agree 1000% No patch or gum can replace the act of puffing away, Gandalf style, deep in thought.

Well, just to update.

I got my 901 and KB classic yesterday morning, haven't smoked an analog since. The 16mg does keep the cravings at bay, but I think that I'll need to strictly order 36mg or maybe 24mg from now on. I crave the buzz.

I think part of the buzz that I am getting from these 16mg carts/juice is the feeling of having to suck air through such a small hole and getting a slight head rush combined with the nicotine.

So far I love e-cigs, but I have been having a little problem. The DSE901 (army edition) that I ordered from dietsmokes seems like it has an extremely tight fit on the cart. I've tried two different carts so far, they get completely jammed in the atomizer and I literally have to use my teeth to pull them out, and even then they are still a pain in the ... to remove. Wondering if maybe its just the atomizer?

As far as the KB classic goes... usb passthru is amazing. Haven't really got the hang of the manual yet, mostly using the auto. Definitely prefer the KB penstyle to the DSE901 for the simple reason that the 901 I have to constantly top off the carts with juice that I ordered (and its a different flavor). Seems like the 901's atomizer is either burning or melting the fuzz in the cart, maybe its just the atomizer pushing the fuzz down into a little half-circle.

Anyone else having an issue or heard of a problem or a solution to the 901's carts getting stuck? Unfortunately I don't have any extra atomizers for it yet, so i can't test that to see if its the problem. Should have more 901 atomizers here friday or maybe monday.
*edit*Also wondering if re-using pre-filled carts by dripping a bit of juice on them is less effective than just ordering empty carts to fill myself. Maybe the fuzz will be a little better when it hasn't been used at all? I don't mind mixing the tastes, but I would like to see a dry cart thats completely snug inside the mouthpiece. The cart's I have seem to be shrunk instead of expanded with extra juice. I would expect it to be the other way around. Know what I'm sayin?

Search for "tight carts" someone had a fix for it... I think it was sand inside of atomizer w/sand paper? or stretch with something? can't rem. Or ask Rita... she mentioned it too.. can't rem what her fix was tho.

Thanks Spikey, I'll check that out. Probably going to try to sandpaper down the inside of the atomizer, dont want to have to keep sandpaper on hand just to file ever cart I ever use.

But by the way, the DSE901 from dietsmokes is really nice aside from this tight cart issue. Takes a second to heat up, but dripping on it, and using it while i drive is FAR easier than wielding the penstyle KB while im trying to shift, steer, and use the manual button at the same time. I think that thing is going to stay at home.

Not sure if it has been done before, but I am going to label one of the KB's atomizers and batteries and use it solely with the usb passthru while its connected to my pc, and the other with only the marked battery. Gonna test it for myself and see if the usb-passthru keeps the atomizer going for longer.

Personally, I wouldn't sand the atomizer. I'd be more likely to live with the tight fit because when you order replacement carts, you may find that they're not so tight. I'd rather have the carts fit too tightly than too loosely. It's amazing to me the variation in carts in terms of the fit in the atomizer.

And, as Outwest noted, carts do tend to loosen up a bit after several uses.

The burning you're seeing most likely isn't the filling actually burning . . . if you were to rinse the filling completely, it'd no doubt be white with no burnt bits. It's probably the juice itself getting darker due to exposure to heat. I've been having that issue with some of my penstyles lately. Not quite sure what the issue is, but I'm fairly confident you're not burning your filling.
