I 'm not such a cig smoker but still happy for you - its been since Dec since my last real cigs. But i have been able to go on and off without cravings. But this vaping is so much like that other thing i smoked, its great!

Now i sent a cell phone vid of me to my heavy smoker cousin and he is willing to let me demo him.

But my cluod9 CL9_501 (510?) is not pulling great!!!!! I need help or a new kit. I posted this as well in a thread

I fear when i go see him this weekend he wont be impressed. I'd be happy if it at least pulled like the guy on their website smh

Congratulations! Did you just stop analogs all together and switch to vaping, or do it gradually? I just got my Joye 510 and am thinking of giving myself about a month to slowly taper off the analog use.

That was my plan. I finished my pack of butts on Friday night. I had the Joye 510 on Thursday, but figured the weekend was the best time to experiment with the new gadget. I just assumed I would go out and get some smokes at some point on Saturday.

Maybe it was the novelty, but I did not have the urge to smoke once I started vaping. By the time I thought of my plan, it was Saturday night. I just went with it, thinking I would eventually break down and go get some smokes. Here it Thursday and I have yet to go for a smoke. It is an amazing thing to me. I've never gone this long without a smoke, since I had my first smoke.

My advise is just go with the flow. Pick a day to start vaping and see what happens. I suspect the lack of a plan helps as it takes some pressure off.

Congrats. That is a huge achievement. Get physically active, if you aren't already. Enjoy your new found freedom. Put any money you save not buying cigs into an account or piggy bank for you. I'm sure your husband will know this is going to save your family a ton of money not including the cig cost (less doctors visits, less cold and flu OTC meds, no treatments for COPD, emphysema, cancer, your funeral and burial). If you decide to spend that money on others, great. If not, great. Vaping isn't free. If you don't get all mod crazy and start buying every new, improved, gotta have untested gadget - you should start building some sizable cash. Use that cash accumulation as a motivator. I don't care how cheap the brand of cigs you bought was.

Use a calender, either a paper one or the one on your computer. Put a big X on every day you don't smoke. Watch those X's build up.

Keep coming here, read, learn, become an expert on what you have. Make it a hobby. Enjoy yourself. But most importantly, be very proud of yourself.

Welcome to the world of being an ex-smoker.

Once again, congratulations!!!

Congrats Phanie.

I understand about not doing it front of the kids. I don't in front of my 6 (and as she says three quartes) granddaughter.
If I'm around when she hits her twenties, I might change my mind. :)

My girls aren't happy about my smoking. They're 8 & 9- my youngest used to ask me to quit but (being stupid about my habit) I told her not to correct her mother as a way to avoid the guilt pangs  I'm hoping she'll notice that Mommy doesn't stink anymore :) As for vaping in front of them they are too young to know the difference, except perhaps the smell.

Thank you! :D Your words are so inspiring! I have no desire to go the mod route- I'm a homemaker so rotating my batts aren't an issue and I'm not into the large or unique-looking PV's.

The dancing banana pretty much sums it up:

It is amazing how quickly vaping can replace smoking. I switched back in Nov, and it was an instant switch for me. Picked up an Ego starter kit on a friends recommendation and haven't looked back sense. First time in 25 years I hadn't missed smoking, and that is going from a 2 pack a day habit. After about a week, I noticed a huge improvement in the way I felt. I could make it up the steps to the house without being winded. And the wife loves it because I don't smell like an ashtray when I come to bed now. :)
