What would be a good mod to start with. I'm interested more in a DIY kit or a 'blue print' (showing my age) with a list of parts needed. Just something about putting it together with my own hands.

I'm not talking about whittling down a piece of oak or boring out a chunk of aluminum on a lathe/cnc machine. Basically want to get my hands dirty making one so that if I am out and see something that strikes my wise ... sense of humor I can be like "Hey that would make a killer mod".

I can solder, wiring from a switch to a battery is no problem, red to red black to black And I'm not looking to reinvent the wheel.

Figure you guys know your stuff a whole lot better than I do.

I was looking at those, decent cost too (for the cheapskate in me). Still a noob, so now I have to start doing some research on batteries .

I heard some batteries were the same as the ones you can get at a camera shop.

I got a VV board from madvapes and a 3 X AAA battery box. It was fun to build it, and there is a picture on the VV board page that shows you how to wire it. I used 2 14500 batteries in it. I lost one of my 14500s so I can't use it right now.

I'm no battery expert, but I only use AW IMR batteries--safe chemistry and high drain. If they interest you after your research, super t manufacturing has some of the best prices on these batts.

I'm sure someone will chime in that knows much more than I, but something tells me you will want to steer away from the camera shop for your battery needs.

Yes i also think the madvapes diy one for 35.00 and its vv too would be fun for a first try and might just make the leap.
Even though hmm maybe i could take the guts and put it into something else for fun.
