I grabbed my provari today and it won't vape. The tank it has (new, iClear 30s 1 day old) was working great last night. It was a thing of absolute beauty until this morning. No errors on the LED, just...nothing. I tried it with other tanks, it's fine. The only thing I've done is borrow the iClear to try the Zmax v5 with it. Which worked just fine. Put it back on the Provari and...paperweight. It's like anything I've put on the Zmax, the Provari refuses to work with.

Edit: if I take the bottom ring off the iClear, it works.

Edit 2: Ok apparently it needs to be super tight on the Provari, seems to be ok now with the bottom cap back on. Still Odd that it would do that though right?

sounds to me like it's not making a connection. When you put it on the other device, the 510 pin musta got pushed up just enough to where it's not connecting with the provari. I don't know anything about the iclear 30s.. is there any way you can pry the connection back down? On my R91%.. sometimes the adjustable pin screws itself too far up and I don't get a connection.. I have to unscrew the pin back down.

sometimes you have to "pull your post"

The pin on the Zmax may be higher then the one on the Provari, so that it pushes up the connected on the clearo when you use it on the Zmax. It may no longer be connecting well to the Provari. I'd take a pair of tweezers and pull the connector on the clearo just a tad and see if it works then.

Looks like those iclear 30s have an adjustable center pin, you may need to adjust that down to make proper contact.

This is where they were talking about that:

edit: Sometimes when you have those adjustable pins batteries being slightly different tightening it all the way down on one battery may push the pin slightly up making it not make connection on different battery.

Thank you! That might have been it. I wiggled it a bit with the nail clippers and it is puffing again. Scared the crap out of me and I freaked out! There's a reason my user picture is what it is...lol

But,,,but,,,,but,,,everyone says Provari is immune to issues.

I'm assuming Donnah means battery connection. Have you made sure the connections are clean? Is it possible some liquid got inside and hit the board?

As we saw, it wasn't a ProVari issue.
Even a mech won't fire without the pin touching.

Still amazed at how often this happens and people can't figure it out. I can only imagine the hundreds if not thousands of Clearomizers and Cartos that have been tossed as DOA that simply were not making contact.
This is why a Cheap DVM should be the minimum in a Vapers tool kit.

Not sure why you're amazed, not everyone has been vaping for years. I only started last month. :p
Thanks to the advice on the pin, I now have learned something new. Something that made me realize what the problem we had before after swtching tanks with the Zmax and Winders had caused the same problem before I knew about ECF. Something I can now share with someone else if I see them having the same problem. Something that will serve me well in the future. Knowledge is power :)

Us newbies have to start somewhere!
