I am taryn, I just joined this morning after spending the wee hours online researching e-cigs. I was lucky enought to have been directed to this forum.

So far I have gotten some good advice already on this overwhelming amount of information I am weeding through (no pun intended). I am leaning towards trying the Joye 501 starter kit. Someone else recommended Riva for the battery life? Someone else said that there is a local vendor who may be able to help me today so I don't have to wait for shipping. So...

I have emailed the local vendor, waiting for response. I need to know what to ask him for. What I need is ease & convenience, long battery life, and the best deal financially. (I know, I don't want much, right?) Please help me. My biggest fear is that I will try the wrong thing first and get discouraged and not follow through.

If battery life is one of your biggest concerns and the actual look of a cigarette is low on your list then I recommend an eGo by Joye Joye Pink eGo

or a Riva

The Riva (Black) [VJK002] - $49.95 : VaporJunction, E-Cigarette Supply

virtually the same thing. I have never used a Riva or bought from a site that sells them. I can recommend cignot, the other link is just to give you a picture and details about the Riva.

good luck. Whichever PV you choose I'm sure you will be happy. Like I said earlier I started with the Blu and though not the best out there I'm still here and still vaping with no craving for an analog.

The eGo(Riva, tornado ect)sounds perfect for you. It is easy to use, has a long battery life, and will only set you back about 60 bucks for the starter kit. I would however recommend that you order 2 spare atomizers, a pack of low resistance cartomizers, and at least 30ml of juice to get you started.

I started with a Riva...on the advice from the ppl on this great forum...couldn't have been happier. It is a great beginner pc, imo..as is the Ego, I would get a LR atty when you order, and xtra bottle of juice..The LR atty is great on the Riva with the cone...This is my opinion and experience from using the Riva..Good Luck ..and Welcome!

I am starting to believe that fate has stepped in here. I was directed on another thread to the North Texas Vapers forum, where I found a thread about a storefront less than 3 miles from my house shich has gotten excellent reviews. So. Now I just have to figure out what to buy when I get there. The e-Go sounds best so far. Is it a type, and Riva, tornado, etc are the brands? And what are low resistance cartomizers?

Yeah it really depends on what your price limit is.. either a 510 or eGo/Riva (same thing/different companies) will be perfect for a starter. There is no going wrong there but then you need to consider liquids. If you don't like your liquid, it might not make you want to vape. But when it comes to liquid, its all trial and error. You may get good stuff and it may be bad.

Thats half the fun, right?

510 is usually cheaper than eGos (cause of the extended battery life on eGos) 2pv/2 attys/5 carts/charger should range from 35-70 bucks

I've seen 510's @ $35 because they are without a box. So if the vendor has those items within that price range, then you are good to go.

liquids should be around 3-5 bucks for 5ml.. or 7-10 bucks for 10-15ml and about 15 bucks for 30ml..
thats the consensus that I've gotten from good e-liquid vendors. Prices do vary depending on sales and quality.

I've been looking at Egos online all week. The most common price I've seen is 69.00 for two complete Ego's...meaning 2 batteries, two attomizers, two cones, and a charger. I would expect it to cost more at a store, but if it is much more, I'd come back oneline and buy from Cignot or FreedomSmokeUSA. They both have excellent reviews and you should be able to have your kit by Tuesday.

Yep..I have never found a bad liquid yet...Some that I can't taste much...Yeah.. but after sitting for 1-2 weeks ...going back to them is like new juice...Order a couple ...RY4 is among my favorite vapes...

It really depends on how long you want to wait. Heavengifts is waaay cheap, but they're in China, so it takes waaaay long. Cignot has uber-fast shipping and reasonable prices. A no-box starter 510 (2 batts, 2 attys, wall charger, 5 preloaded carts) is $35. Figure that as a 'yardstick'. The PCC kit there is $65 (over 60 is free shipping), and adds a PCC and two extras (like 5ml bottles of juice). Gets to ya in 2 days in the lower 48.

I've bought 5 PCC kits from Vicki, and she's awesome. So, for 65 bucks, if you're not getting at least 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, and a PCC... know you can do better.

I would say spending around a $100 should be about tops for equipment and juice samples. Once you get started and have a chance to see what it is all about, you will be able to spend LOTS more just getting it all right. But $100 should be a good start.

The eGo is manufactured by a company called Joye. Totally Wicked rebrands it as the Tornado. The Riva is nearly identical to the eGo but is manufactured by a different company in China. The Riva's batteries will last a bit longer than standard eGo batteries. Rivas are generally a bit cheaper. There is also another model, from a different manufacturer, called the Helo 16. It is very similar to both the eGo and the Riva, but the cone attaches differently and the batteries last even longer than the other two. Lastly, there's a newer model that hit the market recently called the T Rex. It's also similar to the other models, but doesn't seem to offer any clear advantages.

I have only been vaping a week and a half, and I am still an impatient noob myself. LOL It takes a lot of trial and error at first. I feel like i'm finally 'getting it'. And i realize that i shouldnt have bought the joye 510 but rather the eGo because battery life is a biggie for me. I like powerful vapes, and the 510 is ok but I seem to drain the hell out of batteries.

Through trial and error i went from the joye 510 (even had the mega batt but dont think its enough) and using cartridges with a lot of fuss and muss and dripping to now realizing that an eGo and drip tips is probably what works best for my vaping habits. We all have our own nuances and habits that we might not even know we have until we just try. I will tell you that like most others - me incliuded - you might very well find your first kit doesn't suit your needs. I could be ticked about that but realize it is all a part of the trying things on for size that is just bound to happen. We dont go into it knowing what will work best because, well because we are noobs! LOL

Good luck! I would suggest going for a kit with the best battery life. I just think in the long run that will make anyone who vapes happier. If you find you hate messing with dripping, cartridge filler, and using a paperclick to tweak it around, try no cart at all and just drip a few drops right on the atty. That is what i have found to be the less maintenance and best taste. i have gone from doing that w/no cart at all to using an empty cart now just to make it feel a bit more comfortable than a hollow metal piece in my mouth. I tried that a little while ago at the suggestion of someone here just to see how i'd like it and it worked out well.

And to put your mind at ease i have gone from one of the most confused noobs ever to starting to feel a bit of comfort level today in just a week and a half...so you will learn quick - this forum helps a HUGE amount! The people here are so helpful.

Seriously, you guys...this is a great deal! This is basically a two eGo kit, but comes with drip-tips, has the light on the end if you want it, otherwise on the button like eGo's...I couldn't pass it up. I mean, I already have three eGos, but I saw the reviews on this eCo, and it's a good model. And for that price? It's a no-brainer. I think the sale only goes through today, so for anyone out there who wanted to try an eGo but didn't have the cash, this is a great deal. $39!! Wow!

I am a newb on this forum but I have been vaping since April first. I am so thankful I started with the tornado and not the 510. And getting a pass through would be a good idea too.
