I know you think we're syphoning tax away from you country, why not let us
set up a controlled manufacturing facility in the USA, and then tax e-liquid reasonably.
We can supply safer nicotine doses to smokers who wish to convert, see our extensive
safety report and FDA approval application.
Everybody benefits, and since it's a free competative market only the players that
have had monopolies until now will cry foul.
Here's an generous incentive donation to help you consider you decision whether to back our proposal.

Excuse me now, there's another senator over there...

There was a link not long ago to a long article about Big Pharma's plans to some day control the nicotine supply. No ifs, ands or buts. Tobacco is heading toward worldwide bans on usage, so addicts will need alternatives. Enter Big Pharma. It can supply safe, regulated nicotine for anything. Just .. pay up.

And note the article about Philip Morris' work more than 20 years ago to create a nicotine inhaler called the Aria. It could be marketed quickly after approvals -- and PM no doubt follows federal protocol like our Chinese manufacturers did not.

E-smoking is the future of nicotine use. What is happening now is a transition power play that will shake out the dollars needing distribution. And China need not stick out a hand! The present system begged for a ban -- and will likely get it soon

But it makes people feel as if they are doing something and signing one petition might lead to a letter then to a phone call ;) Being active takes baby steps and while you may be totally right, it is a great motivational tool.

Around here, I read a lot of discussion and don't really see a lot of doing... so I am happy to see this.:)

Perhaps, but human nature is that people are more likely to just do the easy quick online petition, feel they've "done something," and be satisfied with that. Useless gestures tend to replace real action, not lead to it. I'd suggest people skip the petition and write an actual hand written, snail mailed letter to their congresspersons instead.

True. The best course of action is straight to the figure head. I have been extremely pleased with all of the well written letters popping up around here. I knew my fellow members were talented, but many of the letters are just beautiful.

Well said.

You gotta start somewhere...this is as good a place as any.

And if a poorly written petition inspires action that someone considers more productive, so much the better.

Read this if you think the FDA is just concerned with helping us poor smokers.

That's key for some smokers who aren't able to quit using currently available nicotine patches and gum, the company said.

There is also a heated post of comments on E-cigs here;

All e-smokers need to be vocal and get involved

Does anyone know what vapor is used to deliver the nicotine in the nicotrol inhaler?

I have searched for info but have not been able to find it.

On a side note, I know 2 of my Senators & Reps personally and will set up a meeting with them to dicuss this. One of them is a closet smoker, so I intend to bring one of my new e-cigs for him to try. (Shame I ordered ALL PINK!) lol

Will let you guys and gals know what kind of reception I received. My hope is to convert ONE! ;)

Correct. The second a company makes a health or medical claim for a product, it falls under FDA jurisdiction and the FDA can shut them down, steal all of their products, and basically put them out of business. For example, if a company is selling limes, and they claim that their limes cure scurvy, they now have to deal with the FDA.

I thought limes did cure scurvy.....or was that sarcasm?

If China really wanted to they could send a letter like this:

USA,

You owe us $739B and you need more money. Drop your pants.

Love,
China

But I doubt e-cigs will be the issue to press that.

HAHAHAHAHa:evil: Love it.

We need to get organized and settle this chaos! Lets make a thread solely for the fight against the ban with updates and what not on the issue. For all who have written a letter to their senators and politicians, please post them for future use as a template for some. Any feedback should be chronicled!
