A little bit of WD40 on the bit works wonders. Get a nice sharp bit too, any old bits that were laying in your toolbox are probably not going to cut it for stainless steel in order to make a new hole. I like to take a nice sharp object and just poke and twist at it to make a nice dimple in the steel and then very slowly go and make the new hole. It takes a while but it's well worth it in the end.

Maybe THAT is why it's taking so long.....he had to go to the store!!!!!

Dedi you are spot on, I just went on a drill bit shopping spree, and finally an attendant at home depot got so annoyed with my constant questions that he drilled it for me with the store drill press...

However, I have taken you guys advice and purchased a spectrum of drill bit sizes and plan to start small, expanding the hole with larger drill bits.

Regarding the octopus, it was giving me amazing vapor at 10 watts, but eventually the side post screw would no longer tighten all the way down, and the center post also started to spin on its axis when I tightened the screws into the wire :/
The octopus works greats, but its pretty fragile IMO.

I'll let you guys know how starting small with cobalt and bits work out! Thanks so much for fast response!

I'm fairly satisfied with the draw on my igo-L.. at least enough not to need to drill more on it just yet.. but I am gonna have drill some on my octopus rda.. just can't decide whether I want to just make a whole new hole in the cap to line up with my coil or try to enlarge the pre-existing holes and preserve the intended airflow scheme
I could not get any vapor whatsoever out of the stock airholes :/ All I got was really hot and dry hits. I should note that I ran it at 2 ohms on my itaste mvp pushing 10 watts, so its not exactly cloudchasing by any measure. Just a broke college student's vape :)

Oh long, we are glad you are ok!!!! Glad you were able to get it drilled, will be much easier now if you need to enlarge it!! I use both an igo L and the large and small octopus, but they are stock. The screws on the small one are a little tough to use but so far so good. The coils last so long that I don't have to change them often. Good luck and happy vaping :)

i Used titanium bits in a dewalt1/2 " drill freehand. No lube, I didn't want something I was holding while drilling to become slippery. Drilled both of my Igos out to 3/32 and I have a scar that I drilled to 3/16 yes I like a really airy draw. Only issue is you cannot over drip or it will be everywhere. Heck I have a 4 hole Nimbus clone that I drilled all 4 holes to 1/16 and I am considering going to 3/32 for all. I run coils around .7-1.6 ohm depending on single or dual and which liquid I use.
