I am curious as well, as they are about $5 cheaper than an AW.
I have the mini with the extension, so whether it is a 490 or 500, I think it would work with mine. The 18350s barely fit, but my 490s with the extension seem to be a little loose.
the LiMn is supposed to be "safer" chemistry, and the description says high drain, which are the two primary reasons for the AW, but are there any other differences?
WTF is the AW anyway? is that the brand?

I just have to say that for the price of the battery vs. its life span vs. the cost of my ProVari, I will use the one Provape recommends! I can find it elsewhere a bit cheaper and buy it from another vendor, and that is how I will buy it, but why even bother with something else? Penny wise and pound foolish to mess with things. I am not sure whether or not using a different battery than the AW would void my warranty, anyone know?

I have read on another thread that the 18500 leaves a little bit of threading exposed and if you don't mind it not looking "neat" I guess go for it. The numbers represent the dimensions of the battery, the 490 being 1 mm less than the 500 so that would account for the end cap not quite flush to the battery holder.

yes, i believe AW is the brand name of the battery.
