IMR Battery Help Needed

Hello,

I bought a pair of 18650 Li-Mn batteries recently at a local vape store that were sold as IMR. The battery itself does not say any IMR on it unlike other batteries I have. Most alarming is the high pitched whine they make when I put them in my charger. DO all IMR batteries state this on the tube? I'm new to mods and all the considerations surrounding them, so bear with me. Thanks for the help.

Generic IMR batteries may not include IMR labeling on the battery itself. None of the IMRs, ICRs or Li-ion chargers I ever used made any noise during charging.

Or Efest, Panasonic, or a lot of other quality batteries. I have some generic IMRs that don't say IMR and they are great. They shipped with a device I purchased.

No one fooling anyone and no one said they were the only ones to buy. Read the post. They are quality batts that you don't have to worry about using as the others you mentioned.

Batteries should not make any noise while being charged. Nor should a charger.

I do not recommend Trustfire, Surefire, or Ultrafire - these are a second-tier quality battery. I also do not recommend generic batteries - they are unknown batteries of unknown quality from an unknown manufacturer (not worth the risk IMO). More than likely they are poor quality rejects from battery manufacturers and have been re-wrapped.

Batteries are the heart of your system. Don't skimp on quality or safety at the expense of $$.

It's best to prefer branded batteries just to be a little bit more at the safe side about quality.

I have five AW 18350 batteries that I could hear charging in my Tenergy charger (I have sensitive hearing and can hear cell phones charging as well). But, my point is, I bought a new XTAR VP1 charger yesterday and can't hear that high pitched noise anymore.

The Tenergy chargers are notorious for making noise while charging. Not recommended.
