Hello all, I'm currently in between mods, and I'm also a FireFighter looking for something tough that can put up with all that crap that I go through on a daily basis.

I started a thread Here with what I'm looking for in a mod.

If you don't read that post, I'll sum it up here:

Needs to be metal (which the GLV2 is)
Needs to be Tough, if I were to drop it would it chip/break?
~If the mod were to heat up would the clear coat or paint run or bubble?

And most importantly needs to have on/off capabilities, which the GLV2 doesn't, but I did notice in Grimm's video that there was a nice solid click.

My Q: Would that resistance on the button stop it from being depressed in my turn-out gear?

Sorry for such a long post, I hope for some solid answers, the GLV2 is deffinatly on my list of Possible's.

The position of the button and the fact that it's a military grade (super high quality) switch makes this device very pocket friendly. If it's on it's end in your pocket it would take pretty precise downward pressure on the middle of the button to activate it. Really not very likely. I don't know of a decent quality metal body mod with a master switch. I don't think you'd regret going with a GLV. It's one of the best built mods out there. I bounce mine off the concrete floor of my shop on a regular basis and it's held up perfectly.

Sorry for the late reply. I can tell you that I have never heard of a GLV going off in a pocket..ever. The GLV was designed to be very tough..(life time warranty)..and all of the improvements that have been made are ALL from customer feed back. You can thank the nice people around here for helping to make it what it is ...awesome! I stand behind every GLV that goes out, and if you have any questions at all feel free to call me 248-346-3205. the GLV is powder coated witch is a very tough finish it cures at 400 degrees so no problem with heat there. You wont find one in the classifieds for very long ..couple of hours at most...hope this helps.

GLV all the way.. this mod has stood the test of time and never activates in a pocket and is backed by a company that offers a lifetime warranty.

check out the saber touch. no on/off switch but it doesn't need one because it's near impossible trigger the touch sensor button without touching it. It's also about as "heavy duty" as you can get.

My 5volt GLV2 is now the only PV I use since I got it in Oct. Tons of vapor compared to other PVs. Here in town someone dropped their GLV2 from 10 ft. You can't even tell. Glad it wasn't mine I woulda cussed at work. His still works great as if it never happened. As for the button, no it is not gonna bug your thumb to press it. I worried it would as my base thumb knuckles are backwards (thank god they are double jointed too). No troubles here.

I love my GLV-2. I have 4 different mods and it's the only one I really use. I have small hands and a thumb that has some muscle issues and I still can push the button without any issues. I keep it in my uniform pocket (cargo pants) at work and never had the button go off. I have dropped it in the street and watched it bounce and it looks as new as the day I got it. I love the 5v and use a regular 510 atty on it and it vapes like crazy. NO regrets with this mod and Jay is great to deal with. I will probably order another after the holidays to have as a back up because I worry about being without it for even a day.
