mods please delete the comment "rip" on the first page, how shameful for Mr. Lik to have to see that. Totally disrespectful and wrong.
Mr. Lik independently invented the modern electronic cigarette we all use, I appreciate Mr. Gilbert's version but we didn't get electronic cigarettes because of Mr. Gilbert. From 1963 to the 2000's we did not have e-cigs. We would STILL not have e-cigs if not for Mr. Hon Lik.
Mr. Gilbert invented a concept which never came to fruition, and if it did I highly doubt it would be used today. Mr. Gilbert's version had no nicotine! It created no visible vapor, it would have in practice been the same effect as a Nicorette inhaler, only no nicotine, and those things were horrible.
If Mr. Lik HAD "ripped" Mr. Gilbert, we would have an
ecig with NO nicotine and NO visible vapor, and NO one would be using it. This whole forum is here because of Hon Lik.
Mr. Lik independently invented a very different machine and included nicotine, and it produces vapor, the checkmate if you ask me.
How else can one explain why we had no ecigs from 1963 until Mr. Lik's invention?
I do believe Mr. Gilbert's contribution is important and he should be honored, but to claim he got ripped? That is ridiculous. It is like saying Da Vinci invented the helicopter because he drew a picture of something like one.
Without Hon Lik we would STILL be without e-cigs, he is the reason why millions or more are healthier and analog free. Mr. Gilbert's idea DID NOT give the world e-cigs, in fact, the company Mr. Gilbert is involved with to make the "1963" cig-alike appears to be using Mr. Lik's technology and like all the rest, are paying Mr. Lik nothing. It seems like people don't like a Chinese man getting the credit he deserves. Or they don't even know he true story of why we all have e-cigs now.
BOTTOM LINE: No Hon Lik, no ecigs.
Thank you so much Mr. Lik, you are the reason why millions of people won't die of lung cancer from smoking. I hope you get the compensation you deserve.
