Hi ECF! I'm pretty new to vaping, but am already rebuilding a KFL+ with no stress at all (amazing RBT!). However, when rebuilding the nautilus coils, I'm experiencing varying results. Some coils turn out great, anywhere between the 1.4ohm to 2.2ohm I've built.

Sometimes the vape is open and full of flavor and vapor, but other times it's been a very tight draw and almost no vapor. What gives!?

I'm using the same wick (cotton) and a 1/16th bit. Anyone know of a secret to get these coils built right every time? Or what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks a lot for any tips in advance!

I hope this makes sense.

The one thing to watch with the Nautilus heads is that liner on the inside. When you remove the coil(s), you'll see that there is that one removable lining made of some durable cloth or plastic. If you somehow removed that, you'll see that there are two opposite pairs of notches. Make sure that the notches of the lining is lined up properly inside the head. A lot of times, even with brand new heads, the ones I found that vapes horribly have that lining not lined up properly.

There is also a 2nd layer of lining inside the head which is kinda made of cottony material, I find that if that lining is gone or worn too much, it's time to replace the head completely.

Took me a lot of builds but I find using a 5/64 bit instead of a 1/16 bit for my coils on the Nautilus actually fits better. Worth a try if you haven't tried it and see which one works better for you.
