Had a few packages come in today... Needless to say, its been a good day. I thought that I would post some side-by-side pics for comparison. What you have is a REO Mini and an Old Goat. I have yet to try either of these bottomfeeders out yet as all of my equipment is for eGos. Two concerns with the goat, the soldering job on the 510 connector troubles me as it looks like a cold joint (bad connection). Also, the squonk holes are rather small. Maybe an oblong hole would be more appropriate. I do not have large hands and I find myself using both my thumb and index finger to squeeze the bottle. I am use to operating me eGos one handed, leaving a free hand for typing or a mouse. With this being said, I like the Old Goat so far. You absolutely can't beat the price, and it has charm.

Having trouble posting pics with tapatalk. I will add pics when I get home.

The solder joint is hot soldered, I add the led and ground after the solder is placed on the connector making it look the way it does...Never have had a problem with any connections on the mod.

My mod was never made to match the quality of the REO...Mine is plastic with an extreme price difference for those who like myself can't or don't want to spend a lot on Mods.

I am trying to provide a good mod at a reasonable price.

Thanks Ron Old Goat

My mod has worked without problem since I got it. For the price you just can't beat this thing. Will I buy a Reo? Yes I think I will based entirely on my experience gained from Ron's excellently priced introduction to bottom feeders.
Thank you Ron!

I would recommend a higher wattage soldering iron then, minimum of 40 watts. I am not comparing your mod to a REO, nor did I even mention comparisons. I like your mod, and like I said before, you can't beat the price.

I don't want to argue with you  , but I have a great solder joint on the connector...I make it look the way it does when I add the LED and ground wire.

I was a diesel mechanic for many many years before I retired and feel I am an expert on welding and soldering of any metal.

Uhh, yeah you did mention comparisons, see first quote. Then for further comparison you posted side by side pics. Not quite sure what your point was, two different mods, two different price points, built by two different people. :2c:

...but I digress--I bought my Old Goat mod first, then later purchased a REO Mini, love them both to death. My REO is strictly for work, to jam in my pocket and get knocked around all day and still provide me a stealth vape at a moments notice...my Old Goat is out on my mod shelf here at home, and is frequently whipped out for it's complete coolness factor with the groovin' light inside and the hot pink paint job that makes people ask, ooooooooooooh whassup with that cute lil pink one!! Lil Miss Pink Old Goat is going out on loan this weekend to a close friend, so she can get a feel for it, and I'm bettin' that she's going to buy one for herself!

Love your mod Ron, thanks for introducing me to the wonderful world of bottom feeders!!

Thanks Zooker you hit the nail on the head...I designed this mod as a less expensive option for those who don't want to spend a lot on a mod before they actually know if they even like it and for those people who have limited income or just don't want to spend a lot on a mod and still get a good quality vaping experience.

Ron, I appreciate you doing the vapor community a favor with your mod, and I truly feel that you are doing a good job. I should have known that I would be flamed on this thread. Sorry if I have offended you, it was unintended I assure you. I will try your mod this weekend when my new tank arrives and I'm sure that I will love it! I will probably buy and sell apvs often, but I won't be getting rid of yours. Bye the way, the leds look great. I really like the color changing one, and how it rolls from one color to the next.

Hey Old Goat,

Do you think you could make something out of this? It's a AA to D battery converter/adapter.

I like it cause of the shape, it's not a box and it's not a cylinder. It has that flat side, that would keep it from rolling of the darn desk or table. Man, I hate it when that happens!

Well, my 510 spacer came in today so I gave the old goat a go. First up was the ego c 2 ohm atomizer and ego tank. The old goat gave me a smooth, warm vape which was so much better than the stock ego battery. Next, I tried a Smoktech 1.7ohm dual coil carto, and wow did that create some vapor! I believe the dual coil was a little to hot, as it sounded like half the juice in my carto was boiling. I am very pleased with the power of the old goat. I believe that it will be my new at-home pv of choice and is added to the rotation. Thank you Ron...

I got one yesterday and fired it up and I love it. Great little mod that is very stealth. I got in with some Reo's I got off of the classies here.

Perfect to try out bottom feeders. I can see a lot of people using these for stocking stuffers everybody should have at least 1 in their collection.

Agreed

No… Thank You!

BTW, are you related to the guy that used to make the MrPuffer a couple of years ago. That was my first bottom feeder. I haven't used it since I've moved onto a tube type PV. But, like yours, it was very easy to use, small, and a definite step up from the mini-ecig everybody starts out with.

Thanks for continuing to provide a device that just works! :toast:
